H22 into a del Sol? the real 411
Okay I got a 94 del Sol VTEC model with a B16a3 in it. Nice car and I like it but like everyone else, I want to go faster. I have seen good times with H22 powered hatches and other eg's but not really any eg2's with any. Is the del Sol not a good candidate for the swap since it is a targa top maybe? Anyone heave any experience with this. And lastly, I'm not even sure if it is a practical everyday type of swap since nobody has one (that i can find) in a del Sol. thanks

You already have a dual cam vtec motor i would go boosted, but I guess you can say im biased The h22 will give you some great torque tho something we all miss and then if that was boosted in your sol well.......that would be some banzer ****

How about putting the H22 in there and boost that
Make sure to spend the extra dough on suspension and some nice tires (traction would need to be your friend).

I say put motor in the back (H22 of course). No one around ya will have that, plus it'd make people shizzle their pants.

My friend had a H22 turbocharged Del Sol. Dyno'ed at 320hp to the wheels @ 12psi. Stock internals, 440cc injectors, DFI, and race gas. Best time was a 11.6 @ 120 mph, then he got kicked off the track because he didn't have a cage . The car isn't running anymore, he working on a new project. The only thing about Del Sol's are that they are on the heavy side.

See what you can create with a your b16.
Biulding a all out boosted H22 would be pretty cool but a lot more expensive.

Lots of different opinions and thats what I like to hear! yeah I am torn between turbo'ing the B16 or go ahead and ditch it for a H22 setup. hhmm.. decisions suck but I guess it is good to have options.

well most likely cause the dohc vtec del sol is like 2600lbs+ or something but a guy here put down 350whp with a turboed h22 and did a 11.4 i think it was, in that del sol....just imagine if he was in a 92 cx
