H22 into a CRV... been done ?
I already did a search and know that it's possible, minus the 4wd if equipped, but I am wondering... has anyone actually done it or seen it completed ?
I would love to know how it pulls, if the tq is worth the investment of $$ and time ?
Where I am... CRV's and H22's are readily available, so some more power in a small utility vehicle with stock honda reliability would be awesome. (not to mention, you pop the hood and even honda people would be floored...I would...lol)

B20 vtec is not a stock engine in any case and needs to be built up to be reliable as a daily driver. I am trying to avoid building another engine.
An completely stock H22 has over 190fwhp and gobs of tq w/o any bugs... all stock, all factory honda quality w/o worries.
To add to my original question... would I be able to swap in the prelude's automatic tranny ? I would prefer automatic in this case.

Man either of those sound so sick. Could you imagine how unique that thing would be? I'd say go for it! How cool would it be seeing a CR-V rock down the track or an auto-x?!! Def. worth it IMO.

This setup is not for a race car, or weekend racer... it's for a daily driver/grocery getter, beach comber. I drive the 'race-car' to work....

Yah... F22 is a viable alternative... 150hp/150 tq right ? But hey.. if imma spend the money on the mount kit... might as well go w/ an H22, plus the H series is easier to get in this country (T&T).

there was a guy taht owned a shop in the midwest that had a crvtec crv with a super charger that was pretty unique. I think building the engine is going to be more reliable then trying to mount an h22 in there talk about transmision problems. bleh.
just get a blower and slap that bitch on

I cant really comment on your H22/CR-V idea. But since you are more of a turbo guy, have you thought about a B18B or C swap and boosting it? You could probably get away with a low boost setup and an unbuilt motor. With that you could have a little more HP/TQ then a NA built H22.
I remember reading about an old lady that did this to her EBP CR-V. She swapped in a built B18C1 and turbo'ed it. It was in an import mag a few years ago...it was EBP and had some Bronze Mugen MF10s. I'll see if I cant dig up the old article. Maybe it had some HP numbers in there.

Boost will make up for the weight.

Re: H22 into a CRV... been done ? (BlueShadow)
I believe that article on the CRV w/ boost was an LSVtec w/ a turbo kit...
I don't really want to mess with boost on this car... I just want a stock motor w/ power.... my other option is to swap in my built gsr engine... but an H22 probably makes a bit more low end tq.

1) Tranny: Since it's not going to be a racy car... I will be putting in a prelude auto tranny if this is done... if I were to go B18c1, I'd use the SiR's auto tranny.
As for the prelude ecu for a vtec+auto tranny... dunno...
2) Axles: Think of this car as a civic.... I should be able to source or make custom axles w/o a problem.

Re: H22 into a CRV... been done ? (X2BOARD)
im sure it can be done just get a FWD crv insted of the awd drive one. The crv uses a cable shift auto tranny to i think so you most likly could use a auto prelude trnany. The mount kit i think you could use one for a h22 in a ek and it would work..
