Update:
**Found out last October 21 that my tach is off by nearly 600rpm @ 7500rpm)any reference made to rpms here is as read on my tach not the actual**
I went to the track last Friday and ran a 14.8 @ 92.02. With the same 2.3 60 launches. Here are my times:

R/T.......... 1.106....... 1.130....... 0.912....... 1.228....... 1.294
60'.......... 2.385....... 2.302....... 2.342....... 2.268....... 2.321
330......... 6.456....... 6.340....... 6.364....... 6.312....... 6.490
1/8......... 9.802....... 9.643....... 9.659....... 9.614....... 9.867
1/8 MPH.. 73.910...... 74.760..... 74.960..... 75.520..... 72.930
1000....... 12.665..... 12.474..... 12.482..... 12.501..... 12.794
1/4......... 15.102..... 14.884..... 14.886..... 15.028..... 15.271
1/4 MPH.. 90.740..... 91.870..... 92.080..... 87.990..... 89.870
LANE....... RIGHT..... RIGHT..... RIGHT...... LEFT........ RIGHT

New Setup:

-Stock JDM P13 ECU
-AN-R header, full 2.5" kteller exhaust
-2630lbs 2850lbs. w/ Driver
-GSR Fat Five rims w/ 205-50-15 Azenis.
-Still no intake
-FPR set at 46psi WOT.

Ran better, as you can see my fourth run was quicker than my fast run up until 1000' mark where i missed my shift into fourth. I had a similar run right after that with a low 2.2 60' and i once again missed fourth, but i lost that timeslip somewheres. We pulled the plugs at the track and I was leaning out a bit at the top end and had a tiny bit of detonation, or at least that's what my master mechanic says.

This is bad *** info. I cant wait to track my car(6-18-04). I just completed my suspension, so I am hoping to grab high 13's. My set-up is a 92 hatch SI(pig) w/H22(JDM 94) LSD,DC header,Magnaflow 2.25 cat-bak(no cat) exhaust, SPEC stage 3 clutch, SPEC alum flywheel, stock fuel system, AEM CAI, JDMshit H22 P28 program, GC coil overs w/ rates of 400F/350R, KYB AGX 4-way adjustables, Eibach sway bar kit, 15" Blades w/ 95% tread Nitto NT450's. Not sure what settings I am going to set the KYB's at. As of right now I have full interior, I will probably be partially gutted.Hoping for some good times. Let me know what u guys think I'll run....

Well, there are my times from last night (Friday). First thing you'll notice is that all of my 60' foots are down to 2.2 and thus my best quarter mile has dropped by two tenths. You could say the reason my times went down was b/c i drove my car better, but i think the increase midrange power gave me something extra after my chirp off the line and before my usual 5200 VTEC crossover. By lower the point to 4800 and better fuel maps and timing the better midrange got me there faster and increased my average 60 foots by as much as a tenth.

The general rule is that when your ET's go down in time, so do your mph. Well, as you can see I didn't really have that trend last night. It would seem that the increased power from the new ECU netted me nearly 2mph better and that's on my lowest ET! I'm sure if I would've spun the tires off the line (or however you get a higher mph) I could've gotten somewhere around 94-95. If you notice my 4th run was 14.80 @88mph. I was hauling *** that run and missed 4th gear. Could've been something magical .

Anyways, guys, it's taken me three times at the track to get close to where I thought I would be the first time out. This should help be a learning experience for everyone, not just myself. You can't just throw fast parts together and expect to get their full potential out of them. Sure, you may get faster right off the bat, but you have to tweak and learn and tweak some more to get what you want out of what you got. My next performance part is going to be the fake j's racing intake. I don't expect it to net me much, if any gains, but I want this car to be 14.4 with that set up and I think it is doable.

After the intake, I'm going to take the time to clean up what i have done to the car and just make it sweet again. Then, I'll re-evalute where I want to be at and what I want to acheive with this car before I make the next step. All-motor or turbo? Track or Drag? Either way, my adrenaline is already pumping just thinking about the possibilities.

Great times!!

My hatch just turned two this weekend. I have to say it took a while for me to get used to it, from the D series. Your times look good. You'll get faster

Anyways, about a month ago I ran my best at 14.2@98 on 2.2 sixties. Mine is a 94 dx hatch, mods are a drop in filter/2.5 exhaust/VAFC (untuned, its my tach)
and using an Accord EX trans.

Just thought Id share.

My first run ever down a strip in my EJ1(EX w/ full interior) w/ JDM H22 (with just generic short ram and WS cat back and cheapo tires) yielded a 14.267 1/4.

For me, the hardest thing to do with a H22 is get out of the hole. You have to drive these different so your tires aren't squirling out of the hole and down the track.

Yea, it's not rev up and dump clutch launching like with a B. You have to learn to control the damn torque with a lower rpm launch and some really good clutch and throttle pedal work.

Exxxxactly... you can't rev the **** out of your motor and launch at 5k or you'll just be all over the place. I tried it once for the hell of it thinking I would try to feather it until traction grabs but that definitley did not work. I thought my wheels and struts were going to come shooting through the hood (can we say MAJOR wheel hop )

To be honest, I usually launch around 1500 and start slow until I get traction then I open it up. This doesn't make for the best 60' but I definitely make it up on the back end

New Bests
ET: 14.583 @ 94.32MPH
TRAP: 95.19MPH

Setup for the night:
-1999 Civic EX @ 2550, 2770 w/ driver
-93 H22a w/ LSD Tranny
-Fake J's Racing Intake w/ 4.5" Filter -change
-AN-R Header w/ Street Collector
-2.5" Mandrel Bent exhaust pipe
-Chipped P28 from JDMSHit.com

Fuel Pressure: 46psi @ WOT -change
Tire Pressure: 25PSI Cold

I dropped the fuel pressure a bit after getting it tested with my new wideband. I was running 11.5-12.0 in 2nd gear @ 50PSI. Great for a turbo car, bad for n/a. I kept it on the conservative side by moving the pressure down to 46. It kept the ratios between 12.8-13.0,.1 .

One thing I did get to check out was the a/f curve set by the chipped ecu. It was very flat until arond 7000 were it richened up. Nothing a little uberdata won't be able to fix later, but i can definitely say, that this ecu is a damn good tune.

Track Notes
During runs 1-4, it seemed as if none of the little tweaking I had done made one damn bit of differences. I barely beat out my best time by .03s and increased my best trap by .02mph. Nothing spectacular.

Well for run 5 I took a buddy's advice and decided to rev it out to where my stock tach says 7700. (DISCLAIMER* I DON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE DO THIS) I would say this made my car feel a ton faster. I wish i knew what i was actually revving to (stock tachs are notorious for being inaccurate) so I don't plan on doing this on the street. Anyways, it had an immediate impact on my times and mph. HEck my very first run I dropped nearly an entire tenth and gained 1mph on my trap. And my best trap went up 1.5mph. Next time I think i'll tune it a tad more aggressively and play with the tire pressures and try out some different launching speeds. I think i could hit that magical 14.4 if I cut a 2.1 60 and get some good shifts.

It was defnitely a good night. I can finally stop crying myself to sleep thinking about how slow my car is. I finally found out what was missing, just 200rpm. It made all the difference in the world.

good times

for me it seems like it going the other around, you guys are getting faster yet my hatch is getting slower. Last friday I ran 14.0@95mph... that right 95mph. I think my clutch is slipping @ high speed so gonna change that tomorrow. That the only reason I could lose 5mph in the 1/4 from 1 week to the next.

Just as an update, I broke the last time i went to the track.

Don't forget to bolt in all 4 rear bracket bolts. Yea, that's right. I left one out because I didn't have one that fit properly, well the second of the four somehow came out, and on the last launch of the night last time at the track the third bolt blew out of the transmission casing, severely damaging the rear and passenger side mount inserts. Not to mention, now it's hanging by a single bolt.

Yes, i'm extremely happy with the time and the mph. Especially in my whale of a civic. It calculates out to a nice high 195+whp output w/ just i/h/e ecu.

edit: how many c5s pull that?

Thanks man, any help is greatly appreciated. Sometime at the end of this month I am going to put in the replacement inserts I got from HCP (for free I might add ) and pull the trans down on the same day. His brother in law is going to reweld that bolt position as well as the VSS mount point.

The guy says it should actually be stronger than the original casing (I don't see how, but the guys been welding forever, so I figure I will give him the benefit of the doubt). Only time will tell, and I finally got my p28 in saturday so no more obd2 ecu on obd1 motor .

Working car and Uberdata sometime September.

-AN-R Header w/ Street Collector

Balance Shaft belt removed
-Socketed P28 running UBERDATA with a decent baseline map. And only partially tuned. Running obscenely rich throughtout most of WOT. -change
-Euro R Intake Manifold -change

Fuel Pressure: 46psi, but is irrelevant with Uberdata.
Tire Pressure: 22PSI Cold

Tonight was 'Midnight Madness' at Moroso and I have a stack of timeslips about a mile high. I'll just give up the better looking ones.

................1............2............
60'........ 2.218..... 2.265.....
330....... 6..016..... 6.114.....
1/8........ 9.139..... 9.245.....
1/8 MPH. 79.05..... 78.94....
1000...... 11.812... 11.916...
1/4........ 14.083... 14.182...
1/4 MPH. 99.09..... 99.30....

Alright, well, those are the only two that matter anyways. I had a couple of 2.1 60s that ended up just being decent 14.1s @ 99.ish mphs. For those of you that want to know it was probably low 70s out tonight (cold for South Florida) I was shifting around 7600-7700. It was a very long night, I easily made 15 runs, if not more. It wasa nice night all in all.

Btw, 2750lbs @ 99.3 mph calculates to about 207whp (only partially tuned btw).
