Default h22 guys help w/ passenger side axle

Ok I am running the 90-93 accord halfshaft/ 90-91 integra outers axle combo. When i was putting the axles in, the passenger side one didn't want to snap in. I mean i felt it kinda snap in, but I could pull it out with a slight tug on it. Is this right? Has anyone else had this problem with this axle combo?

I know i didn't get it in all the way because today when i was turning out of my drive way I felt a thud and the car wouldn't go anywhere. I looked under the car and the passenger side axle had popped out. It scared the crap out of me when it happened. Any help would be cool. Thx.

http://www.placeracing.com has custom axles for this particular swap at about 150 each side.

I used the 90-93 accord intermediate with the 90-93 teg. outers, but the axles were too long.....so I ended up switching back to 88 teg. axles....they work perfect

Also I had the problem with your pass. side too. What you need to do is put the prelude inner joint on the teg. axles (the prelude inner joint is longer, the teg. wont snap into the tranny causing a leak, and the axle will pop out as you said)

http://www.placeracing.com has custom axles for this particular swap at about 150 each side.
I would just use OEM/stock.....300 for axles is insane.

How do you put the prelude inners on the teg axles? Is it hard to do? I have a set of prelude axles.

Check to make sure there's still the retaining clip at the end.

Then when putting the axle in, take a rubber mallet and pound on the piece nearest to the tranny. It should sit flush with the tranny.

Its not easy...but I had the problem of my axle slippin out when I was using the 90-93 teg axle....and the 88 teg axle with the prelude inner joint fixed it nicely for me with no axle bind on corners

Ok. I tried for about 3 hours trying to get this passenger axle to stay in w/ no luck. I feel it snap in, but with a little tug or shaking of the axle it just unclips out. I tried enlarging the snap ring, but it still won't stay in there. It seems that there is too much play between the splines of the integra axle and the splines on the h22 tranny. The teg axle spline just seems to be too small. It also looks like the axle is too short because when I snap the axle in and lower the car back down, it just gets pulled out. I got the axles from thes auto supply wharehouse. I even went back and exchanged the axle for another 90-91 axle from them, and it still didn't want to stay in. Maybe I shoulda gone to kragen or pepboys. heh.
Or should I have gotten a 92-93 teg axle? Is there a difference?

This is really pissing me off cuz i thought these axles would work. Im thinking of just getting a custom passenger side axle cuz i need my car running. Does any place just sell a custom passenger side axle for h22 swaps?

How hard is it to put the prelude inner joint on a 86-89 teg axle? Would I have to buy a prelude axle and a teg axle to do this?

i just look at some axles we have and the shaft that goes into the tranny is longer on the lude than the teg axle... that explains why the teg axle didnt feel like it popped in, and why there is fluid on his tranny... changing that inner asap...

So if i put a prelude inner joint on to the 90-91 teg axle that i have everything will be cool? Is it going to be too long and bind or have problems?

Well to my knowledge the 90-93 integra axles are all the same. On my car(97 dx with place racing mounts) i used a 90-93 accord intermediate shaft and the axles i bought from advance auto parts for a 90-93 gsr teg. (ls,rs etc should all be the same) I havent had any problems, they pop in nice and tight and fit well. Seems like you got urself a wierd axle. Ask them in the parts store to tell you if they list any different part number for axles for a 90-93 teg. If so get them to bring out all the different axles and compare. Then take home with you the longest axle. Good luck

right now I'm using the 90 accord shaft w/ 90 teg pass side axle and 89 teg driver side axle so far so good. I used the 89 axle cause there was to much vibration while acclerating.
