Default H22 group buy... gauging interest!

** TESTING WATERS - NOT OFFICIAL **

If I was to make a group buy for 10 H22 engines, going for $1975usd, how many people would be interested?

- Engine
- Transmission
- ECU
- Wiring Harness
- Axles
- Shiftlinkage (+ 70usd)

Let me know,
Andre

If your in Canada, won't it be alot of money to import an engine into the US?

Why do you have to pay $70 extra for the much needed shift linkage?

Most engines do not come with shiftlinkage. Alot of companies out there try to screw the customer into beliving they are getting a full swap including shiftlinkage, but that's not the case. In this case, we leave you the option to get it, and will not hide they are NOT included in the price.

As for customs, there's a $100usd fee at customs, that's it.

I find it odd that most swaps do not come with shift linkage. Mine came with it as well as my friend's who've ordered from HMO, IAS, and Nippon motors.

I haven't found one (unless it's ghey Osaka) that hasn't had the complete shift linkage.

As for the customs, I'd include that with the price for US customers.

I can't confirm if it will fit or not, but I highly doubt it, since that vehicle was only available with the B and F series engines.

Read up my friend, read up

Well since this is going to be a groupbuy we were thinking about including the shiftlinkage.

As for the customs fees, we did not add them into the price simply to show the breakdown of prices, and how mcuh the actual engine will cost.

Like I said, this thread is to offer suggestions and find interest.

Thanks for your concerns,

Andre

Sounds good enough.

Usually goup buys, sales, etc. don't appear in this forum, but you should have some luck. Good luck

Mine came with shift linkage. It was included in the swap from HMO. It seems you might want to lower your price since you are trying to do a group buy. Since by the time you pay the customs fee, the $300 or so for shipping, then the $70 for the shift linkage, you are up to about the same price as any other importer of JDM engines. Now maybe if you were to throw in the EGR and Map Sensor with the engines that might be another story, but good luck man.

damn... what happenned to the days when you could unloaded a container of motors and pick up a bunch of complete H22 swaps at $1500 or less.... . Now that the supply of B16s are getting dried up, and the H22 swap is getting more and more common, importers (unless you bring containers over yourself) have jacked up the price of H22 motors at least 25%.... sucks.

i dont think the b16's are getting dried up

i think 1st gen are yes, they are getting very hard to grab a hold of now. But the 2nd gen obd1 wont get rare till about 2006 and the obd2 b16 wont get rare till about 2012.

10 years man, 10 years

Heh.. that's what I meant, were the 1st gen B16s (as those still sell like hotcakes when they're available). It's just a matter how the industry will evolve and mature.

That's where I got my engine from. I made the 4 hour trip there from my house and got to pick out exactly which one I wanted. I got the linkage and everything for $1850, and he wrote me a receipt for $700 so I wouldn't have to pay a tarrif crossing the border. I haven't had any problems with mine, BUT you have to remember that I was able to hand pick mine out of the lot.
