h22 engine swap questions?
 

i have a 96 civic hatch shell its an ek. (ej6) i have a couple questions all the information i could use would help, i have checked out some of the resent posts.
1) mounts and axles.. i am getting hasport mounts and axles
2) shift linkage? i need some help, what would work
3) radiator? any suggestions
4) any misc. gaskets i will need to buy?
is there any other things that i need that are little but major.
also i have a gsr wiring harness will that work?

shift linkage would obviously be the stock h22 one. radiator ur stock one would be fine. if your worried get a dual core one from the si. i dono what u mean by any misc.gaskets if it's fine than don't touch it. i'd change the water pump and timing belt and clutch before anything though. Your GSR wiring harness will be fine.

id suggest to convert to a manual tensioner if your gonna do the timing belt.
radiator is iffy. have heard stories of people in arizona not having a problem. but come summer time if i drive on the parkway over 70, i will start to overheat.

It's my opinion that you should replace all gaskets before putting the swap in, as it's much much easier when it's just sitting on a pallet rather than stuffed into your EK. Same goes for any maintenance stuff, like plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, etc. It's all easier to deal with on the pallet rather than having just plugged it all in and something isn't working right.

Shift linkage like previously stated needs to be an Accord or Prelude shifter with cables. Stock EK shifter linkage will not work and must be taken out.

Stock radiator will work if it's in good condition and you're not road racing. My H22 has been on the stock EG single core for nearly 2 years and it nevers overheats.

GSR harness will work, but you'll still have to modify it. Mounts and axles are fine.

Triple check the wiring harness against the wiring diagrams available on this site, and double check the vacuum hose routing once you have the engine installed. what you should do is go H2B but your choice.

yea replace all the stuff you think you need to. but def change the water pump, maybe oil pump, def timing belt, option balence shaft removal (easy did it in my garage with a C clamp), geta good cam seal since its out. really i would just think about the stuff that would require the motor to be out.

ok thank you guys. it will be a little bit but ill let you know how it turned out
