So i finnaly dropped my h22 into my ek the other night. ive attached most of the sensors that fit without lengthening, but there are a couple that need to be lengthened and are unplugged at the mo. i plugged the ecu in to check whether the cel light would flash and tell me what wasnt plugged in (just a test that the ecu works) and the cel stays on permenantly even when i bridge the service connector. it suggestes to me that the ecu is bad but i wanted to check whether the following would causes this before i get a new ecu:

- alternator not wired up
- a few other sensors not plugged in
- earthing not installed properly

the engine is obd2 and im running a chipped p28 with conversion harness ofc

If the thermostat ground isn't attached and/or the engine isn't grounded to the chassis it will throw a solid CEL and act like a bad ECU.

i had the same problem but its nothing that u think it is.. ur cel will only blink when u turn the car on and do it... i was wondering why mine wouldnt either but i guess with the h22 p28chipped the car has to be on in order to read the cel

turn the car on? as in fire it up and have it running?

yeah have it running. cuz mine wouldnt do it with the car not fired up.. i have a h22 del sol with a chipped p28. and i still cant do it with the car not fired up! idk why cuz ur supposed to be able to do it with the key just on the on position but idk just fire it up even if its rough

ahh ok then. mate what heater hose did you use for your h22? the stock civic one doesnt fit, could i just buy a length of hose, providing it has no kinks in it?

heater hose? to have heater still? the one that goes from the side of the engine to the blower box?

yea and the one that goes from the blower valve to the black pipe union, where the oil cooler hooks up.

i dont have the blower boxes. i just put a block off hose on the side of the engine where ur supposed to run the hose from and removed my blower boxes. let me see if i can locate a write up on how to do it. i know how but its a little difficult to explain without pictures

oh really? you must get misted up badly lol if you could find something mate, thatd be great because over here in the u.k its pretty esential to have it.

nahh not really im in the U.S. in tampa fl and its not that bad. they sell the defroster for like you rear window that u can mount up to the front window and just leave it on constantly

lucky, british weather can be real ****. im guessing the prelude hoses will work if i cut them to fit. did you keep the iacv and fast thermo?

h22a4sol how hard was it of a swap was it to swap the h22 into your del sol? i found an amazing deal on a h22. currently it sits in a 1995 eg. Im pretty set on gettin this motor i was just wonderin if there are any little details that i should look out for or any little recommendations you can give about this swap?

Its not hard espeially since its already in a eg! If it has hasport mounts you gotta do a little fab work but not alot just some grinding, text me and ill fill you in! 8138024422

mounts up like a b-series, just very little frame-rail clearance.
