Default h22 ek axle problem...i know...i know...

my problem is this: h22 into 96 civic dx coupe...my pass axle binds on right hand turns...driver side is fine...pass shakes when i turn or go over a big bump...im using 90-93 accord midshaft and 90-93 teg axles...now when i first did my swap i noticed that the pass axle was a bit short? any options on getting this resolved?
ive been driving it this way for about 5-6 months and now its just getting to be too much....

try 88-89 teg ls axle on your binding side, adavanced auto life time warrenty ha thats what i did, i have a feeling i'll be taking axles there alot more often becuase of my turbo setup now

If your axle binds when you make a RIGHT turn, then it's your driver side axle. Use a shorter 89 Integra axle on your driver side and use a Prelude inner joint, as it has a deeper cup to allow for more play and movement for the shaft.

hmmm thats very strange because it feels like its coming from the pass side!? the driver side axle seems to fit fine...the pass seems to be a little short..i actually had to fab a spacer so the axel would stay seated in the tranny...when i turned to axle would pull out of the tranny a little?

if the aXle is to short put in a 94 up gsr axle, but if its on the driver side you'll have to change over the intermediate shaft. Ihonestly recommend that you go ahead and get the aftermarket axles, i bs'ed around with axles and i'm now going with gators they are cheap and strong only like 450 for stage 2s for eg/ek/dc with h22 setup, get ahold of flamco on here he'll fix you up with exactly what you need

i went with raxles and couldnt be happier. i have only had one expierence with binding and it was because i had 4 people in the car, was coming around a turn and had to make an abrupt stop. otherwise, they have been 100% ok. PM me if you have any questions regarding them

here are some pics of my OLD raxles crap. Both of these broke within two weeks. Still have them sitting in a box. At the time they broke I was just doing normal driving, and was a stock h22.

NOTE THE SPLINES!

I have a 95 teg with 95 H22A. The guy who installed h22 put 94 accord intermediate shaft (mid axle) and 91 integra outer shafts. My axles bind when I turn left and when I go over big bumps. I have talked with many many "Experts" on the subject and I have not got the same answer twice. I have talked with Place Racing out of cali and they said they have the "proper" outer shafts that will fit if you have the accord intermediate shafts. I checked with Honda Canada and the intermediate shaft for the 90-94 is exactly the same part BTW. I have read on some of theses boards that by switching from a 93 or 94 accord int shaft to a 90 would fix the problem but that is incorrect.

get some HAsport axles. My h22 civic is slammed with no binding problems and can hold 300 hp.

I have the h22 in a ek hatch and I too have binding on the pass side..

what I had to do was use a 88-89 tegra axel and raise my car back up

its just 1.5 lower than stock height and absolutely no binding problems.. I guess a camber kit will fix it better.

88-89 teg axel on the drivers side also.
