h22 in eg swap cranking over hard but refuses to run
Just put my stock h22a cams back in and also did a sk2 intake mani on my stock longblock setup. Went for 1st start up a couple day ago and the car started right up I let it run for a minute or so aand **** it off. The next day the car is cranking over but won't start. Did a compression test....ready 270 across the board and timing is still dead on. Sometimes the car would actually kick on but just run for like 3 second and die.
Had my girl try to start it and I notices the body of the starter was moving quite a bit( the starter itself is bolted tight to the block tho) and I did see a couple sparks come from it. I also did a spark test by taking out a spark plug, and putting it inside the plug wire and holding it close to a nut(ground) in the engine bay and there was nothing. No spark at all. My question is that is there anyway that due to the starter acting up I wouldn't have and spark running thru the dizzy?? Fuel pressure is good at 45psi and I'm picking up a starter and an igniter today

fix your distributor and you will be fine. either the coil or module or pick up could be bad.
I do h22 swaps in a lot of hondas and have dealt with this time and time again, nothing a new dist won't fix.
Check all grounds, ensure they are tight and connected, ensure that your cap/rotor are in working condition (no cracks, or breakage)
You simply have no fire. Are you running the jdm internal coil dist or a external coil dist?

im running the internal coil one......i put in the new starter and the same **** was happening. decided to take the dizzy cap off and there was absolutely no bolt on the rotor. i was pumped thinking that that was the cause of it but turned out not to be the case when i put a screw back in it. still at square 1
