Default h22 eg running rough! please help!

so I finally got my hatch on the road. The car seems to be running ok, except for a really annoying problem. When I try to press on the gas pedal very lightly, at low speed and rpms - the way you might drive in a parking lot - the car yanks and jerks you back and forth violently. After a quick investigation, I found that with the car in neutral, if I press on the gas very lightly, the engine runs very rough, surging rhythmically like its misfiring or something, then when I give it a little more gas, it runs smoothly and well. Does anyone know what the crap is going on?
thanks for reading

Ok this only seems to happen between 1k-1.5k RPM. I unplugged the TPS and the problem disappears...but of course I couldnt rev past 2K RPM. sound like a busted TPS?

could be something as simple as fuel filter.

Are you getting any CELs?

If you dont check your codes then it is going to be hard to diagnose the problem. I hate to see all these swaps being hastedly done without research but I know how it is when time and money is not on your side.

Do everyone a favor, check your codes first then and only then can I assist you in getting rid of the problem.

whoa whoa that hammer was definitely for me. I think you might need to lighten up.

And I researched for months before doing this. Im sorry I dont have any way of checking what code Im getting in my home garage.

anyway I solved the problem on my own. everything smooth, no cels.

this site is becoming less about learning and helping people and more about flexing egos and trying to sound smart at other people's expense. even in the short time Ive been a member...

I had the same problem on my Civic. The TPS is either not calibrated or is bad. Chances are it's bad. Most any Civic/Teg/Accord will work. Mine would buck all the time and eventually would throw a TPS code. If I unplugged it, it would work fine.

check the vac hoses... spray some carb cleaner on them... if your idle goes up, you have a leak. I had a very simular problem.
