H22 DSS stage 1 axles leaking trans fluid into inner CV joint?
yeah, so i pulled off the passenger side axle today. i heard some weird fluid sloshing sound and air being squeezed out of a pinhole. so, after further inspection, i noticed that where the shaft goes into the inner joint, it's leaking fluid into the inner CV joint? has anyone ever heard of this?
it appears as if the shaft and inner joint are two separate pieces
pic is worth a thousand words. note the red arrow and the splined inner joint. i assume that shaft is held on by a circlip inside the joint:

DSS was quick to respond! awesome. here's what they said:
the picture is of a level 2 inner, now about 3 years ago we were out of the
level 1 and used them for about a month. if they are that old (and mine are) this
could be it. the spline plug is welded internally and if you man handle it
enough it will crack the weld and the trans fluild will do that

yeah, i think it's a big problem cause i don't have any grease in my CV joint. it all dissolved into the trans fluid.

what i don't get is that a stock H22 "man hande"d it enough to crack the weld. hmmm.
we'll see what DSS says.
