Have you ever ran the car yet? There's a shop in Virginia and they have a bunch of street cars with Prelude swaps running high 12's on the motor. Check out there site..inline-pro.com. Good luck with the car.

shouldnt be a problem with an H22 in a 96 hatch, no lightening of tha car at all.
a few yrs ago one of my friends got the 1st Prelude swap From HONDA PRO, Stephan Papadakis' old shop in so cal.
They were busting out 13.0 1/4 mile times at a high elevation track and thats with stock header, stock everything. all it had was intake and exhaust.

so high 12's is pretty easy with just some bolt ons and some other minor power adders.

run open header and slicks.

its time to learn how to use slicks, because once you add power
your car won't get traction because of the h22's torque.

someone who i know has the j-spec prelude motor with 220 hp and LSD in a civic coupe(don't know what the code is). And he ran a high 13 with just i/h/e and he was spinning tires like nothing. If he would have had slicks he would have hit low 13's easy. With a little more work 12's without a problem. I was gonna get that same swap but i heard the handling is horrible and i'm trying to get into road courses so i need the handling. I just got the J-spec GSR motor and i'm happy. But for drag racing the h22 is the way to go. But beware of broken axles.

Yes... with my JDM H22 SiR motor w/LSD, I ran open header (HUGE hotshot race header - no exhaust) on 13" slicks and pulled consistent 12.6 times. On Nitto Drag radials, and full exhaust, I pulled mid 13s with 2.2-2.3 60' times (drag radials really don't help out on a H22 Civic).

Read my previous quote.
As for road racing, read my other post about road racing my car... some "well known" folks (like DanPhan, Katman, JeffS) were all there to see it, if not drive my car on the road course)... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=183552

Read what I said up top. Even with Nitto drag radials, you're not going to hook up. Been there, done it a lot of times already at the track with my H22 hatch. BTW, I had my tire pressure all the way down to 15 psi and still had 2.2 60' times when launching at 4500 rpms.

What exhaust do you have since putting on the hotshot header??

Custom 2.75" exhaust all the way back, with a "Y" header dump right after the collector (so I can uncap it whenever I want to run right off the header)

FYI, the H22 motor doesn't seem as loud as a B-series VTEC motor with just open header.... weird.

Yes & no..... Yes, it will work, but no it won't have enough clearance on the driver's side unless you dent the oil pan in to make room for the radius rods.

We're in the process of coming up with some designs for a H22-radius rods setup using the HCP front cross bar (so you can still use the front mount, and have the bar help out on traction).
