H22 civic guys: What tires are you running and what do you recomend?
Just wondering what everyone's doing for tires and such. I've got 15" rota c-8's w/195/45/15's on the back but I'm not sure which direction to go for the front. Azenis? Drag radials? What do you guys think?

Well what do you plan on driving. Just a DD (Daily driver) or mostly a Drag car or a Autocrosser? Or all the above.
Now if you want to do all the above i would recommend the Falkin Azins(or how ever spelled) They will offer great traction. But will wear out quick and you MUST put on snow tires for the winter.
Do you "race" everywhere? I imanage so if you droped a H22 in a Civic.
Do you have a LSD? You can get away with cheaper tires if you have a LSD. there are so many differnt tires. We need more info.

i run a used pirelli p7000 on the front left rim, a general xp2000 on the front right steely, and a pair of no name tires on the back. they are all 195/50/15s. they spin easily though they have a performance tread pattern on them.

I ran both the Azenis tires and Nitto 555R radials (radials wore out first) but both hook up well on the street. With regular H-rated Goodyear tires, I'd spin them like crazy through 2nd & 3rd gears where with the radials or Azenis tires, it's spin a little bit and grab. In rain, the 555R tires are better but both are great on the dry pavement. Both tires are 205 series, but the Azenis are a little bit wider with a stiffer sideway so corning feels better with them, but from "stop light to stop light" driving, both feel about the same IMO.

I am running the Azenis right now and they are pretty sweet. I also like the parada's. But I would have to say nothing beats the good ol' M.T.'s, to bad I can't keep them on all the time!

whoa. what rpm do you usually launch at?
I'm running Falken 185/60R14's on my steelies now, pending 5 lug. So, I'm not too conerned for tires now

Now that's some skill
Very nice 60 foot's for the tires you're on.

Re: (junglerunna02)
Well yea. The car is not any "different" but if you want to talk the size of the tire that is a whole different game. We are gonna tell you to go wider!

Totally agree with you, brand of tire is one thing but the size is a whole different ballgame.

I agree
wider tires=more traction because more of the tire has contact with the ground.

Im about to get some 205/45/16, now if that is the correct size to get for an ej6 with an h22 i dont know. But it seems from what I read it should do.

Im using Firestone FR360's, 175/65/14 on my steelies. Dont laugh, they actually hook pretty good on the street. Another cheap tire that worked well was a Goodyear Integrity 185/65, I like experimenting with cheap tires from our tire bin at work.
