Default h22 breaking axles

Hey guys ,
I'm having a problem with my car and maybe you guys would have some info which might help me out a bit .
I have gotten a H22 swap in my EG sedan last August , and today is the day I found out the second axle for the passangers side , went . I had another one fail me arround November , and now it seems the second one went .

There are a few things i can think of which might caused this only , i dunno which is most likely to be causing it . First off , untill today I was cruising arround in stock civic suspension with quite a few parts waiting to just colapse .
Another problem is that my engine is not in perfectly straight . IT's not very visible but if looked at carefully you could notice is not straight .
Also the mechanic that did the swap for me , seems to be blaming the HCP mounts i've used , but this sounds a bit fishy considering quite a few people use HCP's and i'm sure not all have to swap their axles every 3 months .

Well any ideeas on this one ?

Thanks in advance

If your engine isn't sitting straight, then yes your axles could break.

also another thing which i want to add is the fact that i havn't really been racing the car . I went to the track once , and even then never launched past 2000 RPM .

I am also the type that hates unecesary burnouts

Like I said the shop is blaming it on the HCP mounts

unfortunately, it might be the HCP mounts if it was not installed or mounted correctly -- being the angle of the motor.

but then again, I do not have HCP mounts and would talk to someone who does.

waht axle combo are you using?

the HCP mounts need the passangers side mount point to be relocated ... that has been done , and that's what i'm affraid of beeing wrong .

i am meeting up tonite with a few h22ers and see whatthey have to say about it ...

yes my engine sits on a bit of an angle , like i said nothing big , but you could eventually notice it

I am using integra axles ... the passangers side one broke twice , the other one is still fine

what year is your motor? If its a 97 and up then you will have to use the 92-96 rear L shape bracket.

Yeap sounds like the good ole rear tranny bracket thing again.. I wish HCP would get on the ball and make it common knowledge that this is an issue... All other things said once you get the 92-96 USDM rear tranny bracket your motor should sit straighter, hence your axles should be more inline.

What rear tranny mount is everyone talking about? I never knew that there is one on the H? I used the "race" kit on the EK. And that had 4 mounts, both sides and front and rear.... But the rear goes on the motor?

Sorry talking about the rear tranny bracket that the rear mount connects to.

Ohh and the EG kits don't use that? I'm kind of confused? Does this concern the EK install?

The rear tranny bracket is on the rear or the tranny of the engine so it doesnt matter if its an EG or EK. What does matter is if you have a JDM engine that is of years 97+.. And even then someone has said before that the pre 96 JDM engines tranny bracket it a little off from the US one as well which may slightly cause wear to the bushing on the rear mount.

Yup. This is exactly what happened to me and my car vibrates like crazy when i accelerate. Im replacing the bushing on the rear mount and I ordered the USDM 93-96 rear tranny bracket. Hopefully this will solve my vibration problem.

But yeah I just recently found this out too. With the hcp kit you need to use the 93-96 USDM h22 rear tranny bracket.

I bet the problem is your Integra axles aren't strong enough. Get some Place racing or Drive Shaft or Prodrive axles.

I have HCP EG + 88-89 teg axle + inner lude
Race all the summer at drag strip and never had any axle broken. I launch @ 4500-5000 rpm without any problem except to hold the steering But the axle on the driver side are not perfectly straight That could cause the axle to be change more often. The only solution to have perfect axle with H22a it`s to knock the firewall behind and use the place to backward the angine I wont to this except for race car
