Default h22 or b18c1 for 98 ex??...NEED HELP

i am deciding on which engine to swap into my 98 ex. i know a little between the 2. the h22a has more hp and tq, but is heavier, where as the gsr motor is lighter. it's gonna be a daily driven car, and i'll take it to the drag strip sometimes, but most of it's racing will be on the street. future plans are putting a JRSC on it w/10lbs ob boost and be spraying a wet 35 shot of nitrous express. i will be building the engine a little bit so i don't blow anything up. and i will be tuning with Hondata. tell me what else i need to do or what you would choose.

thanx, greg

i got a h22a4 in a 97 dx. its pretty quick even at high eleavtions. i live in denver. and drive it everyday. sucks down gas like a **** compared to my old dinky d16y7. but the only things that can hang are turbos ,people squirting nos, and built motors. problem is the clearence on the driver side shock tower. its too close have to shift very smooth so no motor shake at all.real loud too i got 2.5 all the way back to a 4 inch tip maybe five i forget. but i love it. it pisses off everybody. they think its a stock dx with exhaust. the reason i went with a h22 is cause everyone and their grandma has a b swap. but if you want ac /ps get the b series.also the b series has more aftermaket parts too cheaper and you don't have to drop the motor to work on it. if i was you i would get as much info before spending any money.

Get a B18C, there are too many h22/civic hybrids now-a-days.

It all depends on what you want out of it. If you wanna eat the competition up,H22 all day long(no replacement for displacement). If you want fast but not at the expense of comfort,B18C will do. There is alot of companys that make H22 swaps for civics(Avid racing is one, pretty good prices). One advantage of doing a H swap is that their motors are cheaper than the B series motors. The only disadvantage i don't like about H swaps in eg/eks,is that damn rattling inside the cabin (IMHO). No disadvantages really on B18C motors except for the price. I hope that will help you out on your decision.
