H22 in 94-01 integra?
i was debating either going H22 in my DC or going Ls turbo...the thing is...i already have the LS...but i don't really like the idea of going turbo..first...it's gonna cost a pretty penny...and second..i really don't trust a turbo motor. I've had bad experiance in the past with turbo.
so i was leaning more towards H22 in my 00 integra...i have my LS motor sold if i want for $1500...and the JDM h22 swap is only $1950...so i would only have to come up with about $1000 to dump the H22 in my teg...thats including mounts, linkage, and axles.
what does everyone think? bang for the buck wise?
anyone know what kind of times the H22 would run? with intake, header, exhaust and possibly a good clutch?

All a matter of opinion. I have a H22A in my EK hatchback, putting one into my DC2 Si-VTEC car, and I have a turbo on my 91 Integra. But for me, I get bored of one setup after a few days and want something different .
Your best bet is to find somebody with those particular setups and test drive the cars and see what you really want to do. FYI, besides the cost of the motor, you're looking at another 2g's minimum for a decent turbo kit.

well i've been in an ITR teg,and turbo hatch...i love turbo...but...it think its alittle to much cash...H22 seems like the best bang for the buck.

ls turbo is what i decided to do. first i was like you and figured it would be a great bang for the buck but then just all the headaches of the install and the low rev limit and bad rod to stroke ratio made me realize why the H22 is so cheap. Higher rpms on a turbo motor is much better. and a turbo will cost you about 3k... not bad for the power. just some food for thought. if i think of anything else ill tell ya.

I guess you've already made up your mind. I think the H22 will be a good choice and just think, you could always turbo that later on.

that was my #1 reason not to go with the h22. B series are way better to turbo. h22s dont take to boost well at all, plus fitting a turbo into an already crammed engine bay would be a nightmare.
i highly recommend NOT doing an H22 integra.

The B-series motor have a iron sleeves and the H-series block use a FRM lining and softer pistons, so they don't like to take too much boost or they'll melt. If you get forged pistons and don't resleeve the H-series block, the motor will seize up after awhile as forged pistons are designed to go against the iron walls and not against the FRM lining. But I've been in a turbo H22 Civic (with only 6 psi of boost) and it was still fast and very fun to drive, but didn't have as much pull up top as my turbo B20 setup with 11 psi. Depending on what mount kit you use, you can easily fit a turbo in the EG/DC chassis with plenty of room to go.

Easiest way in an Integra.... refit a Civic SOHC compressor to the Integra lines and use the HCP AC bracket and bolt it right up. If you try to use the Integra compressor or Prelude compressor, it's going to hit the radiator. On the DC/EK chassis, you can use the 92-96 PS pump and bracket as they'll clear the hood. On the EG chassis, you need to use the smaller 97+ Prelude PS pump & bracket. It's been done quite a few times already so no real problems there..... just weld those high pressure lines so you don't run into any problems down the road.
