H-series motor questions - H-series experts please help!
The shop that I work for is currently trying to decide on a motor to use on their new shop car. They are trying to decide between an H22A DOHC VTEC or an H23 DOHC NON-VTEC.
What I am wondering is the difference between the two. I know the obvious differences so please spare me the "Well one has VTEC and the other doesn't" comments.
What I need to know goes deeper into the motor. I want to know if the H-series motors have oil squirters in them like the B-series VTEC motors? What else is different about the two? Also, does anyone know where I can go to find out more about putting on the H22A VTEC head on the H23 bottom-end. Is is the same as doing an LS/VTEC or CRVTEC? Same rules apply or is it different?
Any help is greatly appreciated, in advance thank you for your help!

go with the straight H22. the H22 head on the H23 block isn't worth the hassle. it is just like doing the CRVTEC and LS/VTEC. i don't think the h23 has oil squirters but i'm not positive. the difference between the h22 and h23 is this: h23 has longer stroke, therfore a little more torque. they both have the same bore size.

Does the H22A have oil squirters???
If we decide to use an H22A...how much can you go on the bore? What displacement would that give us? Also, can you stroke that motor aswell? What displacement would that total having it bored and stroked to the max?

yes the h22 has oil squirters. the most you can go on the bore of the h22 w/o having head gaskets blowing every other day would be 89 mm. 90 mm is MAX. yes you could stroke it. i believe crower makes a stroker kit for it. the most displacement i've heard of from an h22 is 2.6L.

you could put an H23 crank in an H22.....that seems like the easiest H23-VTEC...maybe i'm wrong....cause i have no hand on exp.....but it seems like it should work
