GSR won't start (no CEL, no ignition)
Hi guys, i just finished a GSR swap into my 2000 DX hatchback. When I turn the key, the check engine light does NOT come on with the fuel pump like it normally did with the D16y7's ecu. Pulled the plugs yesterday, and found that the motor was getting spark and fuel...today when I actually went to start it for the first time, it was not getting any ignition. The fuse is alright, and theres power getting to the dizzy clip.
I haven't wired the VTM or VTS to the computer yet, but that shouldn't make any difference...that and I didn't put a knock sensor in it yet.
Could this simply be a bad ECU? (OBD1...and I am running a conversion harness)
Can I try using the D16y7 ECU to see if it will start, or will that not work?
Hope this thing runs soon, thanks for any help.

Re: GSR won't start (a1320addict)
Well I can imagine!
I'm running an OBD1 engine, with a modified OBD2b EWH, connected to a conversion harness before plugging into the OBD1 ECU. (and yes, modifying my civic DX harness was a bit of a pain in the ***)
And by the way, I found the source of my ignition problem. It was the coil. What i did was take the coil out of the GSR, and plugged it into my 93 winter beater civic. Wouldn't start, so i knew that was (one of) the problem(s). I haven't tried starting it yet, so I'm still not gettin that warm fuzzy feeling that everything else is going to be kosher. Im still concerned that the ECU might be bad, because of it's lack of MIL flashing on power-up.
I'll keep you posted
Thanks!

Re: GSR won't start (boostedcivicsir)
All the grounds are good, found the problem(s) though... not only was it a bad coil, but the ICM was bad too. And the reason for not getting the MIL on ignition, is because the conversion harness I bought had 2 wires in the wrong spot, it just so happened that one of them was the MIL.
