GSR swapped civic, CEL Light, Rev Limitor at 7200, Need help.
I have a 97 civic ex that today i just finished my swap with a 96 gsr. Heres everything i can tell you about my problems. It hits a rev limiter at 7200, it idles at like 15-1700 (which is to high obviously). the motor revs up fine doesnt sputter or anything but doesnt seem to have very much power(more than the d16 motor though), I know its not a bad motor because i have the whole integra and i took it for a spin before i put the motor into my civic and it was super fast. Anybody who thinks they might be able to troubleshoot that some, please help. Also tomorrow im going to a local shop to have it put on a computer and the exhaust work done, Open header was a bit too loud. LOL.

When i took it on my test drive, i did hit vtec at 5500, but i am afraid it might be in safe mode or something.

Yes i changed the ecu, my speedometer doesnt work, so i called the kid that i bought the car off of, and he said when your just sitting still it had a 7200 rev limit, so i've gotta hook up my speed sensor i guess.

I've tried both wires that will fit onto my VSS and my car's speedometer still isnt working, do you have to use a different VSS from a diff car or does anyone know why this is. I need some help here, Also what is the senser that comes out from the bottom of the block on the left side below the crank pulley?

Your VSS should match fine. My b16 Vss clicked right together with my SOHC harness. The connector by the crank pulley is for the crank position sensor. Check the IACV connecton. Chack to make the harness has enuff room to move. If it doesnts it strech and pull on the wires when you drive!!

Re: (QuickDxEk)
I got the crank sensor hooked up. Yes it plugs right into vss but my speedo still dont work. Could a fuse have anything to do with it. If so where would this fuse be. I'm out of ideas, the computer i had it put on at a local shop didnt throw a code for the VSS but it doesnt work. ???? Anybody else have this problem with the swap. Also would this affect the performance of the motor?
