GSR Pistons in B16A block
My friend has had trouble with the rings in his first gen B16. They are shot and it keeps fouling his plugs. He plans to have the block honed and all the tolerances checked before a rebuild. I have a set of brand new USMD GSR pistons with rings from Honda. Will these work with his block and rods without any modification? I think the stock compression is 10:1 so he would take a slight loss in compression?

I believe that alll b16a and b18c have the same bore, it's been a while since i have seen the measurements. And yes the compression will be less on the b16a head. If they do have the same bore, I don;t see why the rings wouldn't fit.

yes they will work just fine, I have a buddy that is running usdm type r pistons in a b16a block it works just fine. But CR is low like 9.3 or something... and it's ok because he is running turbo, but with the gsr pistons he will yeild even lower prob around 8.6:1 which sucks just like my buddy's car without turbo. On the upside the motor wuold prob last forever...
