Default GSR motor (black vacuum box)

I'm in the process of getting my motor ready to go back into my car and wanted to know if this black box is required if I removed the black canister from a 95 civic ex. I don't have a stock gsr intake manifold anymore. I have a skunk2 now. I been doing some reading and couldn't get a solid answer. If this black box is require I was wondering if I can used a blox or golden eagle vacuum box to make the engine bay more cleaner and still function normal.

Here is a picture.

Any help is much appreciated

if your running OBD1, just get rid of it. It's just for emissions...

You're in NY, don't you need to run evap? The other guy's from Mars. Why listen to him? Just "T" it.

Thats the vaccum reservior for the IABs.. not emissions related. Make sure you run a vacuum line to the fpr and cap any opening but its not needed when running an aftermarket intake manifold. Looks alot like the charcoal canister for the EVAP system.
