I am swapping a 98 gsr into my 97 civic hatch and I was wondering which wire harness I should use I'm guessing a 99 si wire harness but do the plugs match up in the engine bay? Also the car is going to be California state ref'd so it has to be legit so no cutting up harness

The 99-00 harness will not fit, neither will the GSR harness.

You can swap your harness to a 96-98 ex, or you can use your orginal harness, if you add the plugs needed.

The ex harness will be the easiet way, but it will take a little work for it to fit perfectly.

hmm, not sure, but i would have thought a 99-00 harness would fit a GSR if the engine had a single stage intake manifold. All the sensors should be in the same place then......the thing i don't know is what the compatibility of the newer OBD2B harness into a OBD2A car?

I have a '98 EX with a '00 GSR in it. I used my stock harness and a Skunk2 intake manifold.

The OBD2B plugs are different then OBD2A (ECU side)

He "could" use it, but he would have to switch to the 99-00 dash, and run that harness, as well as a different ECU.

I just converted my existing dx harness for a vtec motor. For my b16a2 swap, all i had to do was extend some wires, wire up vtec and use a 2 pin ckp sensor plug because on the dx harness, mine had a 3 plug connector. Really easy to do. Just do some research or you can buy a ex harness.

Hey i have a 99 civic ex coupe and a 99 gsr, would the 99 gsr engine harness work with the 99 coupe harness?
