if i save and get crowler, skunk2, or toda cams will i see anything without tuning? i mean i never took apart an engine so for $75 bucks is it worth it with the labor to get the gsr's or wait for some aftermarket ones.

Re: GSR cams for Lsvtec B16 stock head?
I'm troubled with a similar decision but with a B20 block (low comp) and B16 head.
A stock block LS/VTEC is only around 9.6:1 compression - will going for a larger cam than the GSR be worth it?
There's a few sets of ITR cams for sale locally but in my case with 9.2:1 if I'm lucky, will there be any gain over the stock B16 cams or the GSR cams?

i swapped out my b16 cams for some gsr cams in my b16 head. you'll get a little bit of a power gain, 10 hp at the most. you can't buy anything better than gsr cams without replacing your entire valvetrain and that gets expensive. keep that in mind! if you're not getting a tune i would just leave it alone. you *MIGHT* notice a difference with the gsr's.

seen someone on here selling gsr cams for real cheap but how hard is it to install? if its gonna be a little complicated then i guess its not worth it for the gsr's. how much are itr cams? i havent really seen any being sold.

I paid 20 bucks for some gsr cams and put them in a b16 motor, the def made a diff. vtec was noticeably louder. for the money if you get a good deal on them you cant really go wrong. type r cams are way better, even with your compression, but its a whole different price range. but you will figure out all motor stuff isn't cheap. gotta pay to play.
