a friend of mine has a 97 EX 5spd that he just had a gsr swap done on. he comes to me today and asks if i can get his vtec to work. he says it worked when he first picked up the car, but now it doesn't. where do you guys recommend i start looking? the shop that did the swap is very new, and has no idea why this doesn't work. friend says car runs fine, no smoking, idles smooth, etc.. just no vtec. is there something that could have simply come unplugged, a sensor that would cause vtec to not engage. btw..no CEL. any help would be greatly appreciated.

what ecu is he using exactly? (check the side of the ecu's casing)

is there enough oil in the engine?
