Got a question ( I am a beginer) about swapping motors
Ok I really want to learn stuff about cars so I wanted to know if it would be cheaper to get a b18b swap in by a shop or me myself piecee it up. I know I would learn more that way but would I save money if I did it this way. I also wanted to know could this swap be done as easily as reading instructions. Thanks guys.
P.s I really don't have that much experience with this type of stuff but I am willing to learn and I am stubborn.

You can fork out the money to have someone do it for you, but that's lame.
I would research your *** off and make sure you know what to do and such (just the basics), disconnecting mounts, shift linkage, axle nut, and wiring and such.
Swapping is pretty cake, you just have to know exactly of what to do on a particular swap.
Research your *** off, and learn that way, then experience will give you a good lesson once you do the swap

32. Remove distributor;
33. Remove A/C compressor bracket;
34. Inspect wiring harness;
35. Fit removed parts;
36. Fit clutch/flywheel;
37. Fit gearbox & starter;
38. Attach engine sling and move engine into chassis;
39. Attach front and rear engine mounts;
40. Attach crankshaft pulley;
41. Attach LHS and RHS engine mounts;
42. Attach ALL ancillary components;
43. Attach ALL electrical connections;
44. Refit radiator;
45. Attach ALL coolant lines;
46. Attach alternator, PS pump and belts;
47. Attach A/C compressor;
48. Attach fuel lines;
49. Attach vacuum lines
50. Attach throttle cable, clutch cable, VSS and VSS cable;
51. Attach exhaust pipe and shifter rods;
52. Install driveshafts and re-fit hubs;
53. Fill engine oil, coolant and gearbox oil;
54. Cycle engine on starter 60 seconds;
55. Start engine and check for leaks;
56. Check/set timing
57. Allow to idle for 15 minutes and test drive…
so there you have it, my list of steps when swaping a ED civic engine...
a hybrid swap is slightly more complicated as there may need to be modifications to the engine bay etc...

Re: Got a question (tinkerbell)
Do it yourself, you will be bitching during the process but it is much more rewarding and the learning curve is great. It also depends on your confidence in your own abilities and if you have friends that know anything about cars. Just my two cents.

Re: Got a question ( I am a beginer) about swapping motors (SOJAMR1)
I'm almost complete with my Eg / GSR swap.
I've read, read, and read some more. I've posted post after post with pics and it;s all been good so far. I've learned a ton and have NO regrets at this point. If you are interested in seeing my progress do a search under my name.......
Plenty of pics of everything that has gone on.
