Got my motors from JDMSOURCE (www.jdmsource.ca)
For the past three winters, us Michigan Honda folks have come together for what we call the "Motor Run". We round up all the Honda guys who need motors and then a couple of us drive up into Canada and pick up the motors that we need. In 2002, we bought motors from Lucky Star Japanese in Toronto. In 2003, we bought motors from Osaka in Montreal. In 2004, we bought motors from JDMInc in Montreal (strikingly close location to Osaka). Each one of these motor runs left us with a bad taste in our mouth about JDM engine importers. All three of these companies were perfectly compliant and helpful until they got our money. When we had problems with our swaps, none of these companies were at all helpful. Broken axles, wrong ecus, busted sensors. You name it, we had problems with it. None of these problems were ever righted.
So this year we decide to have motors shipped to us by JDMSOURCE (http://www.jdmsource.ca). A guy named Shoaib runs the place and I was skeptical at first as I always am with JDM engine importers. This shop proved to be different. Shoaib was very nice and helpful on the phone when I presented him with our situation. He provided me with pictures (including engine numbers) of each swap before we decided to order them. He was also very careful to be sure that I was getting everything that I was expecting to get. All in all, we ordered an H22 swap, a first gen b16 swap, a 2nd gen b16 swap, a b18B swap, an H23 longblock, and a b16 LSD tranny. All of the swaps arrived in perfect condition. Swaps arrived with all of the correct parts needed (axles, linkage, mounts).
All of the nitty gritty details of the 2005 Michigan Motor Run can be found here:

Overall, this is the first year that we have felt like we found a reputable shop to buy JDM engines from. I would buy engines from them again.

The first year when we went to Lucky Star we were Honda noobs and didn't even know what to look for. We bought a b16 that had about an inch of sludge stuck in the head and a bunch of broken sensors. At Osaka we got some ecus that ended up being for auto trannies. Sent them back and never recieved the manual ones in return. At JDMInc we picked up our swap and were supposed to have axles sent to us a couple of weeks later (didn't have them in stock). They sent us a bunch of random axles that were all junk.
No problems so far for the stuff from JDMSource.
