Default Getting rid of Check Engine light (D16 ZC)

I had a D15Z4 as stock in my 99 Civic, with P2C OBD1 ecu.

I changed the assembly to D16 ZC sohc non vtec, with P76-902 ODB1.

I am getting a check engine light for
AT lockup control solenoid valve.

Its a 5-speed manual, and based on the ECU decoding, 9 means JDM (auto), 0 means 5-speed, so my ECU is manual or for Auto ?

How do i get rid of the check engine ? Do i need the AT lockup solenoid in manual transmission ? If no, is there any way u can get rid of the check engine light ? By ,i dont know removing any wires or pins from ecu ?

Thanks

If it's am OBD1 ECU, I suspect you can crack it open and see the resistors that would need to be removed and a jumper wire put in place on one of them to convert it to manual and also to verify it's an automatic.

Look up converting auto to manual OBD1 honda ecu and you should find a thread or two with pictures that show the two resistors. When you open your ECU if you see resistors there, you verify it's an auto ecu. And then you can do the conversion easily.

Or report back it's a manual ECU and hope someone has an idea of the issue.

Thanks for replying.

Its manual, it doesn't have the resistors RP17, RP18. The ECU code P76-902, 9=JDM auto , 0 = 5 Speed manual. What does the JDM auto means if its manual ?
Now that its confirmed manual ECU, why am i getting the Code 19 A/T lock-up control solenoid ?

Record a video of the CEL flashes, maybe you are miss-reading it. I know I suck at it and usually need others to confirm.

I am sure its code 19, i have checked it with a diagnosing tool, as well as by counting the flashes too (one long flash (10) and 9 faster flashes (9) .

You have a Honda HIM and the software subscription for JDM OBD1 ECU?

OBD2 scanners will not work on OBD1 ECU's or even JDM OBD2 ECU's

Could you be getting code 10 then 9? if there is a little pause between the long blink and the 9 shorts, that is 10 then 9. IAT and Cylinder Postion 1 error (CYL).

No, i don't have that. I went to someone who had a scanner, other than that, i also manually placed a jumper cable so that check engine will flash, and it was 19.

Well, I am not sure how a manual JDM ecu would be spitting 19 unless JDM flash codes differ than USDM ones. I don't think they do so I would suspect maybe you have a bad ECU.

No it shouldn't, so that means OP has an automatic ecu. So unless OP provides a video of the blinking CEL the assumption is its an automatic ecu.

The number on the ECU isn't automatic 902 is 9 - Japan 0 - Manual 2 - Version/Revision. As well as OP opened the ECU and noted no resistors in the key locations of an Auto ECU, RP17, RP18.

So, the assumption is a bad ECU in my opinion. I would like to see a pic of the ECU board as well as a video of the flashes, but no matter, the thread will likely fade away.
