Um I dont see how its possible for it to be better then the LS/VTEC because it would be a 1.6 non vtec instead of the LS that is a 1.8 and taking the vtec away from a b16 is not going to make it faster at all. Personally ive never seen this or heard of ne one doing it I think it sounds plain ridiculous.

idk something about more usable traction because of the whay there is not as much torgue or hp so your no spinning tires all the way down the track. plus the rs goes up as well.

You'd lose compression ratio, LS heads dont flow as well, and the absence of VTEC. I'm not sure why you'd do this unless you were desperate and didn't have a head. I think a complete LS motor would probably make more power than a b16 block and ls head.

an LS vtec is a decent swap because you take the best parts of both motors to make one more powerful than the b16 or the b18 alone. so doing the opposite will leave you with a motor less powerful than either. the bottom end has no torque, and the valvetrane in the head limits your revs. sounds like a good swap if you are broke, have no engine and need to get you from point a to b. that way you can swap for a real B series motor down the road without replacing many parts. I bet it would only be slightly slower than a sohc vtec.

Re: (burnitup)
dude if you go that set up you better be running some really high duration, huge lift cams.... so that way you wouldnt have vtec but with those you wont need it anyways...
