ok, to get this right. you used aftermarket 96-00 civic motor mounts and they fit perfect on the h2b setup?

i finish mine about 4 months ago..
this is the parts you need:
-h or f series motor .
-h2b adaptor..
-b series tranny.
-b series linkage
-b series motor mounts
-splice your harness + run some wires( depending on where the swap is going to ).
-longer fuel line ( if keeping f20b stock fuel rail )
-asorted extra bolts and nuts.
-b series starter, flywheel and clutch kit
-if f20b ( my case ).you need aftermarket intake manifold or h22 upper plenum + plenum studs ( to solve usdm vs jdm aicv wiring issue )
-two 12 pack of beer of preference...and a free weekend....lol .
as far as the instrucions call qsd, seth will e-mail you everything...( by the way that guy is cool as hell.... great custumer service )..
-also banging the frame on pulley side of the swap is requierd....( left side ).
i hope i answered the last 3 questions in here...
thanks .....

if you keep the h/f series alternator banging the frame rail right in front of the alternator pulley is required .
Just drop in the motor and see where it hits . fix the issue and press on.

Our Alternator Bracket Kits:

EG/EK/DC OEM spec either Upper or Lower Kits work fine on Evolution Kit
EG/EK/DC Upper or Lower 1/2" over Kits must be used on QSD Kit, less frame rail clearance.
1/2" over kit must get rid of the balance shaft pulley behind the crank pulley. 2 ways are leave the shafts in, take out the pulley, machine the pulley down and use it on the outside of the crank pulley to get your spacing right. Other option is purchasing the Kaizen Speed Balance Shaft eliminator kit and running there spacer on the outside of the crank pulley rather then inside. Either way for 1/2" over kits will need the Timing Belt plastic notched in the route of the alternator belt or not run the Timing Belt plastic. D series alternator kit will give you little more clarance on the pulley since the 88-91 is a 3 ribbed belt and pulley rather then the H22 which is 6.

Lower Kits will hit the driver side radius rod if planing to run a Traction Bar System.

EF chassis 1/2" over kit is a must for both H2B kits and still may need to massage the driver side frame rail since the EF chassis much smaller then the EG/EK/DC chassis. Upper Kits only option for EF.

So you can use your stock H22a alternator bracket, and stock H22a alternator in the EK civic with the quarteRsports h2b kit. The frame rail doesnt need to be cut, just banged in with a big hammer. We just got carried away haha. I would recommend do the banging with the motor out of the car.

As for the alternator wiring all I did was cut the F20b alternator harness and wire it into the Stock civic harness. Just match the wires up to the colors. The colors are the same on both ends. Other than that no other wiring. Very easy install.

THis is the passenger side axle.

This is the half-shaft.

Getting ready to start the motor, filling it all full of fluids.

This is the finished product, we actually got to drive it out of the shop today. We are still waiting on a crank pulley, and then we are street ready. But it cranked up the first time, and ran great.

Thanx again guys for looking and all the great comments. This was a very fun project.

Awesome write-up. I really like this swap, being able to retain a B trans and stock linkage/shifter is genius. Whenever I see the banging/cutting of frame rails I wonder why another bracket can't be fabbed up to locate the alternator lower on the engine. Then it would clear? Difficult to see in the pics whether this would work.

I have a few ?s I have a stock auto GSR (yes I know it sucks) and i'm upgrading to the F20B along with the auto to manual converting.

so here goes........its going in to a DC integra ....do I also have to bang my rail in the back for the balance shaft? to clear it? I mean 10lbs is not going to make me or break since my car is light any how......and when you mean cut the belt I do not see any pictures of that being done can any 1 show me pictures? i'm always going to go K manifold since I do not want to notch up my hood but I know that's another beast all together. or if any 1 can chime in on the matter since the OP and others done this swap already thanks ....Great build by the way......

I realize this is an old thread, but is it normal for H2B kits to position the motor crooked in the engine bay?

It may be one heck of an optical illusion but,

It appears the driver side is hanging down lower than the passenger side...follow the contour of the valve cover along the firewall, or along the radiator support and you'll see what I mean.

It also looks like the engine may be positioned crooked in the opposite direction too...driver side of the engine appears to be sitting closer to radiator support, while transmission side appears to be sitting further back towards the rear crossmember/firewall.

Just curious!!!!!
