fucked on H22
A buddy of mine is planning on doing an h22 into his 5th gen coupe. He was doing business through RJC Trading in Washington. After a month of bullshit excuses, he finally got the engine. I am doing the swap for him, because he is a relative noob in stuff like this. I went over there a few days after he recieved everything, to check things out, and I couldnt believe what I saw:
Here is what he ordered:
H22A w/conversion axles and 5speed tranny.
Here is waht he recieved:
AUTOMATIC H22, NO half shaft, STOCK Civic axles.
Once I saw this, I got that sickening feeling in my stomach....although once the guy who bought the **** learned of this, Im sure he about fainted. Anybody ever heard of RJC Trading??? Can help the fella out? Hes only 16, and $2200 is about his lifes savings....

Have you tried to contact them yet and explain your problem? I feel bad for him but you should have asked about them before he ordered his motor, not after. If he did get screwed then it's too late now

Its cool you tried to help them out beforehand. I guess if the dad had it figured out when they bought it then he can figure it out now.

Re: fucked on H22 (jmm96gsr)
Damn, feel sorry for your buddy.
But are you sure they were CRYSTAL CLEAR on what they want and ordered? Yea, maybe you should have helped in letting them know what was ordered.
Anyways, budgeting only $2200 on an H22 swap was his first mistake. The swap alone costs more than $2200. Add in the mounting kit and it's upwards of $3k already. Then the labor.
BTW, it doesn't really matter if the H22 was automatic or not, it's still the same block. I would send the tranny back and demand a 5 speed manual transmission. Also send the Civic axles back and demand the CORRECT axles (90 Accord intermediate shaft w/90-93 Teg axles). And definitely send back the ECU for a manual P13.
Good luck in trying to get everything done.

Re: fucked on H22 (Tinker219)
Thanks for the sympathy guys, I'm the one that was fucked over. The guy claims he has other people package his **** so either they **** up big or played us for fools. We just sent an email to him about the problem and we try to call him periodically. He only picks up about 25% of the time. We're going to try calling him from other places cause he has Caller ID. Pray for me and I try keepin' you guys up to date.

Re: fucked on H22 (SupaFly_Honda)
We finally contacted him and he said he would send us the intermed shaft and axles and that he would check on the tranny. He had someone else ship his stuff out that obviously didn't know what the hell they were doing. I just sent pics and its sounds like he is going to send the right stuff. to bad though, the tranny was LSD and I thought I got lucky

Call Washington's Better Business Bureau and report them, regardless of what happens with getting things sorted out.
Did you get a reciept with the purchase?
Did you pay cash? Check? Credit card? Get your bank involved if you paid with check or credit card.
Speak with a lawyer. It may cost you a couple hundred to get things sorted out if if comes to it, but it will be cheaper than starting over and having to buy a manual tranny and ecu. Plus, the shop should have to pay for the fees if they lose.
Ride the guy's *** like a donkey. Call him 4-5 times a day. E-mailhim pics of the engine you recieved 4-5 times a day. Do it every day. Sooner or later he will get tired and give in (hopefuly).
*67 turns off the caller ID. Dial *67 and then the number you want to call. That way, you can call from your home and it won't show up.

Re: fucked on H22 (redlineh22a)
We tried that calling him last night, no answer and then we tried agian using that *67 thing and the bastard picked up. He agreed to send me the right axles and the tranny. He said that the ECU will work, in which I think he is right, and not just trying to save himself the hassle. Thanks the for the support and if anyone could give me some advice on which mounts I should use (HCP or Hasport) that would be some damn good info and could also save me a couple hundred. Thanks

Re: fucked on H22 (redlineh22a)
auto p13 ecu will throw codes if you have a manual tranny. ship it back and get a manual p13, or find out if any place can chip it to just be 5-speed. katman?
