first start up lsv no oil pressure
I have a stock block b18b with a gsr head golden eagle lsv kit. New oem oil pump, water pump and timing belt. I cranked the car over for a while and oil light never came off. I started the car and oil light stayed on. I disconnect the oil pressure switch and oil light goes off so switch works but I still replaced the switch just to make sure and still stays on. I let the car warm up and had it idle for 20 mins. I removed the oil filter and it was dry as if no oil went in at all!!! Will my motor run that long with no oil? No no knocks no ticks still starts right up. I'm buying a gauge today to see where it's at and if nothing then I'm dropping the oil pan. Any suggestions?

If your not seeing any oil flow stop running the engine or your new build will be ready for a rebuild before you ever drive it. Yes an engine can run for a long time without proper oil circulation, but the amount of heat and friction created will cause damage to various engine internals, bearings, etc. check your oil pump for function and correct installation, pickup etc. just because it's new doesn't mean it can't be broken or that it's installed properly. That should be your first check.

Also is the person who assembled it familiar with hybrid Honda builds? I can't tell you the number of times I've seen improperly set up B20Vs and LSVs, especially in regards to the oiling system.

Ok I will install a gauge and crank it to see if it moves at all. If it does then I'll start it to see where it's at. If it doesn't move then I'll remove the oil pan.

Yea if it's low oil pressure, check the oil setup for the LSV kit and all the lines, make sure everything is installed properly etc. If it's no oil pressure at all, definately look to the pump/pickup for your trouble.

if the oil filter was dry after running the engine, you have no oil pressure. No need to buy a gauge to verify what you already know.
Id check the oil pickup tube and gasket. while your there, you should pull a rod cap or 2 to check your bearings. If it did in fact run for 20 minutes with no oil pressure, I don't think your rod bearings are going to look good at all. better to know now than later IMO.

I bought an oil pan that was a victim of the low life I didn't notice it was that bad. We'll it bent the pick up tube and did not let it pick up oil. Now I have full pressure. I'm super lucky engine sounds so much better now.

Pressures look great. I'm actually surprised that no damage has occurred . I bet it's a lot quieter too!
If the pressures maintain, your probably ok. I'd check the filter again too just for peace of mind. Good luck!
