First 200whp EG Build.
Well here's the deal, Im trying to build a gsr hatch to 200whp all motor.
Here's whats done so far:
-B18C1 Longblock
-JDM ITR 11.3:1 CR Pistons (stock bore)
-GSR Cams
-ITR Valvesprings w/ Ti Retainers
-Stock port
-Skunk2 Pro Intake mani
-Blox 68mm TB
-AEM Intake
-Hytech Replica Tri-Y headers
-Testpipe
-Del sol Si Catback
-AEM Adjustable FPR
-Walboro 255
-Chipped P72 for Crome
Went and got it tuned at DNR, made 181/131
Not satisfied I went and picked up a set of Blox type B cams, and tomorrow i'll be getting Blox valvesprings as well. Hoping to pick up the power to over 190.
Then im gonna let my bank account take a rest for a while, and get the intake mani and head ported, along with APEXi WS2, and bigger intake piping. Hoping to make well over 200 wheel when all's said and done.
What do you guys think? Suggestions, comments, all welcome.

Oh by the way, may anybody know why I have trouble starting/idling when the engine is cold? and why it has a major rev hang when its warm? It'll sit at about 2-2.3k for five/ten seconds before idling comfortably at just under 1k.

Your gonna need to cam your motor to try and reach 200hp.. The stock ITR valve springs should be okay with the cams as long as you have some good aftermarker retainers. Them seem to be what gives out first in my experiences. You should probably portmatch your intake manifold with the head and the tb with the manifold if you havent done that already too

I was thinkin about the port match too. I'll let you know whats up, the new dyno results, with the cams, should be up sometime this week.

Don't spend the money on the WS2, it's one of the more restrictive exhausts.
If you are going to get cams, make sure they are degree'd in properly.

That's what I was thinking, I went out and got blox springs and to retainers. Got adjustable cam gears (intake degree'd 2 degrees advanced as per blox specs), and new valves with seals. Haven't installed them yet though. I am deciding on wether or not it is a good idea to get a b16 head for the better flow rate. Plus I want new lma's.

should of went with CTR or RS machine 12.5:1 comp pistons.. esp if ur gona go with bigger cams .. also if ur gona go with a REPLICA header should of went w/ the RMF type replica .. makes more power.. could of been over 200whp with them things cuz that i used

Re: First 200whp EG Build.
a set of cams and a decent exhaust and you shouldnt have a problem meeting your goals...id stick to the gsr head because..
A.you already have it and you already bought an intake manifold for it.
B. Any small difference in flow from switching to a b16 head will be negated by the loss in compression
just my .02

Haha, funny, I forgot about this thread, well, the motor now belongs
to my brother, he's going boost, and I'm building another NA motor. I'll have another build thread started soon.
