Finally took the H22 to the track yesterday.
finally! I'm not very happy with the times, but I'm glad I hit low 14's nonetheless considering the elavation I am at and tires I was running on.
Car: '93 Civic EX
Motor: '92 JDM H22 with M2A4 non-LSD. HASport mounts, DSS Stage 1 axles
Mods: Short ram intake, Spoon chipped P13, open header
Elavation: 4200 altitude ft from sea level.
I ran approx 8 times, and best ET was 14.49 @ 97 MPH. I only ran on all four steelies with 185/60R14 snow tires
I wish I would have tracked down some drag radials at least, but happy to run the thing.
Here are some pics:
Videos will come soon! Also moving project from the EX over to a 92 VX.
Can't wait to start this project

That's a weird track? Looks..."homemade" LOL! Did it use to be an airfield or parking lot or something?
Anyways, nice MPH though. It's definitely got some potential.

thanks jon this track is so ghetto they didn't tell me the 60 ft or anything. pissed me off, so I couldn't determine if i was launching for **** or not.
monk - i hear that. ghetto as hell. had to drive 1 1/2 hours to that damn thing, but RMR (local raceway that owns) is closed and will be opening soon. And I was killing for some base times heh.
adam - i launched at about 2500-3500 range.
I lowerred the pos snow tires to 20 psi and launched at 3000 with the 14.49.
What's funny is, my first run was 14.52 with the full exhaust, resonator, high flow cat and stock civic piping =X
We decided to take off the cat and run open header, and when I ran, I had wayy too much top end for the snow tires to get fawking traction on.
It's all good, best time will come. I know I'll hit 13's now with slicks.

what do you mean WE ? I was the one doing most the work cutting that stupid cat off you didn't want to get dirty LOL, it's all good though it was still fun. when my friend get's those vids off of his digital camera I'll have to post them of him spanking a DSM.....Only thing I have to say is he didn't have traction anytime near in 1st gear and he only had 8 mins to run 4 times with the open header so I don't think he got used to the power LOL. anyways until next time
Running 4 times in 8 minutes was crazy. I wanted those DSM's asses heh.

joe -- should have kept your coupe
the nissan owns though. RWD owns us all
I want 13's damnit! I wanted to break consistant 14.5's and hit lower 14's at LEAST
Gabe's hatch was quick, he was well prepared though with the drag nittos. too bad his alternator belt broke.

Cool... but damn, snow tires? Where you lighting it up, litterally, from the steel stubs on the tires?
Now, lets get some more people out onto the road-race course with their H22 Civics, so that I'm not the only one here (and Jeff652 after test driving mine) that has something to say how well it handles and how fun it is to drive on the road race course

Re: Finally took the H22 to the track yesterday. (Newman)
dude you should of seen how much smoke there was on his launch. Even though the track is shitty it's a lot of fun especially watching ppl race. a lot of old school V8's, that day brandon had everyone fooled that he had a B16 until he actually told someone, LOL

Damn Poison. Those are some pretty good times with those snow tires. Throw some drag radials on and post up some more times. Oh yeah, I finally got the hatch running.
But good times and glad to see the car's running good. Best of luck.

Re: Finally took the H22 to the track yesterday. (poison)
Hey poison just out of couriousity did you run with IAB's open or were they hooked up? I ran with them completely open and I think I benefited from that, what do you think?

Re: Finally took the H22 to the track yesterday. (fastwanabe)
ya. I run with a vacuum line hooked from the IAB valve to the side nipple (meant for EGR). And when the throttle is barely tapped (less than 50% of the way) the IAB's are shut. When at WOT, they are open.
HTH
I think while running them open is best since you're at top end the whole time.

brandon, do you have a camber kit? Cuz your camber looks pretty good from what I can tell, and that thing's pretty dang low!
If so, what kit?
