Default A few questions for you D series people.....

I have been searching for a while and still cant find my question. I read mini me.

I am putting a y8 head on a 92 d15, the intake manifold kinda looks like it might work. Will it? if so with what gasket?

Do I have to remove the oil jet?

This car is going to be turbo, can I use the stock head gasket or the one older head than the y8 head gasket for lower comp?

Keep stock timming belt?

Or just keep the stock head and intake manifold and just turbo.

thanks I am not to up to date with this d series stuff.

First I would discourage you from doing the mini me swap. I know right now it sounds good. I was going to do the same thing, but the more I did my research the harder I found it was going to be. No offense but the fact of the matter is that the D15y7 is a turd motor...i know...i had one. There is alot of work that has to be done to make that motor half way respectable. The main problem is that you're taking a OBDII head and trying to make it work with an OBDI system. However if you insist on doing the mini me, good luck. Here is one of the main problems you have to overcome. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=523967

Default Re: (GSRslowandswap)

we decided to go with a different setup. Were going to use a 16v 1.5 head instead of the 8v. The main reason is we dont want 11:1 comp on a turbo app. I am going to keep the y8 head and sav it for a N/A motor. Is the z6 and the y8 have the same cc combustion chamber? What kinda gas you guys running with the mini me? With the 11:1 i would think at least 94.

thanks for all the help.
