yeam man.. swaps are easier than they sound. well thats if you have a engine hoist.. even if u dont some people rig a way. at work one of my fist engines i took out was an integra engine.. then lots of camry, vans, honda engines..

taking the wiring harness really clears up lots of room. oh and also taking out the rad. im soon to be putting a built LS/VTEC in my teg. hopefully things go well.

Great info

I have just one question that might help me and others as well in the future. I recently sold my b20/vtec motor and should be picking up a jdm ITR swap within the next few weeks. My question is does anyone know the wiring procedure to allow my car to start? I will have both the stock itr ecu that comes with the swap and a p28 ecu as well. This will be going into a 94 Civic Dx and either a 96 or 98 itr motor. TIA

-------HXMan-------

If someone needs pics to put together a swap page, I got lots of digi cam pics from my swap. I was going to make a swap page myself, but never got around to it. I got around 45 pics of differnt parts to the swap process.
Right now I am getting paid to do my second swap. After being the first person in my city to do a swap himself, I now have a reputation. I'm getting $400 to do the labor....not bad if you ask me. This swap is going sooo easy after doing mine. I don't even really need the helms now.

Can i possibly get pics of your wiring? I'm doing a similar swap (b16a2 into a 96 dx) and your pics could help me alot. Thanks alot.

Sounds simple! I might have to try the B18c1 in the DX eg hatch. I got a question on "adding wires" for the vtec and what not. This might sound stupid but oh well, how do you "add" the wires? The car im getting is a DX with a Si engine in it, so its got the vtec wires already. What wiring woudl I need to use? Do you guys think this swap could be done in a weekend? Start to finish with EVERYTHING listed above and not much Honda experience?

THanks
Josh

Great tech thread!

The wiring seems to be my major grey area. I see the post on what needs done but anyone have pictures. I'm a visual learn.... hmm ok visual not sure I learn.

The more pictures of wiring setups the better. Anyone have a write up for which wires needed extended when using a 95 civic si wiring harness into a b18c1. I know there are additonal wires, but do any of the stock ones from this harness need extended.

If you were going to answer the question with use the GSR engine side harness to the SI ecu side I can't. It's a JDM motor. :D

Great tech thread! Just looking for more wiring side detail.

what about the fuel pump? I was under the impression that when you say swapped a B18C into lets say a 99 CX you had to upgrade to a GSR fuel pump? havent seen anyone mention this yet. I dont know for a fact if this is true, anyone?

Good point, I've heard so it's tough to say honestly that you will lose some power buy not upgrading but have seen no evidence or proof of it. I ordered a 190 LPH walbro from Lightining under the group buy section for 74 bucks shipped I think was the cost. Figured it can't hurt and for the price I couldn't beat it.

Anyone have honest proof if this is a needed upgrade.

B18C5-EH2 - You never completed step 6 - how to pull the axles.

I tried doing this on a B18C1 that was out of the car and I couldnt figure out how to get the passenger side axle out of the tranny. I even had a helms
