Default f22a6 head on f22b2 block?

Lower end on my f22a6 went bad. Have an f22b2 in the garage. WIll the a6 head work on the b2 block? Any mods needed?

i havn't tried that specific combo yet, but i know those two motors are similar looking, and i know that the F22A6 head fits the F23A1 block with no modifications. VTEC and non-VTEC F-series have different length timing belts, but you're comparing non- with non- so it should be the same. i would recommend comparing the head gaskets and determining if there is any significant difference or need to use one instead of the other.

they bolt right on, i did it last year. no mods needed.

i used an f22a1 timing belt/tensioner, etc and it worked fine. i used the same setup on an f23 vtec bottom end.

easy peasy.
