Icon7 F22 swap EG Sedan completed! raises interesting questions

Ok about it...92 eg sedan dx just finished F22b2 swap(for now building A1)
as we all know there's not much information out there about the swap so my purpose is to offer my insight on what I encountered so here we go(used to have d15b6 terd)

96 accord motor, ecu and shifter, wiring harness (parts)
**the civic harness WILL work with some modification
96 prelude rear mount
96 accord trans mount bracket(drill out spot welds) do not need h22 mounts
91 teg da axles (accord midshaft)
**I kept the original civic engine mount bracket on the timing cover side to help keep the motor lined up with the shock towers for handling and engineering purposes

this was an incredibly tight fit leaving only a half inch between the starter and the radiator and the IACV to the firewall..too tight for power steering and AC

WIRING: extend the alternator wires using/cutting off the accord harness
and also you will need to rewire in the accord injector plugs, you should also run the wires for the egr valve and pin them in the harness to the ecu but I just unplugged the vacuum hose from the intake plenum for now runs real bad if you dont

You cannot use the accord distributor since it requires a coil but you can use the the d series one

From there it's pretty much plug in play with the exception of cutting custom upper radiator hose and heater hoses

As soon as i can post pics I will

the part that raises questions is on here you read about wiring a resistor box for the injectors, for what?
And also an ignition box, for what?

You could have reused your B7 injectors as they are the same CC

Yeah that is a good point I didn't think about that
My old motor was the 8 valve b6 though I'm not too sure theyre the same cc?

No, they're only 180 or 190cc. D15B7s are 240cc.

Yeah that's what i had figured, wouldve been nice though save a little work

I used the distributor off the d15 and i may be mistaking but there isn't any dramatic difference in them to require one specific to a bigger motor is there? It seems to work no problem lol

How's your timing on that d series dizzy compared to the f series?

Not too sure I understand the question but I set the timing then hung the dizzy 1432 firing order. I didn't run the f series dizzy at all because it requires a coil

Thats a nice swap, i have a eg sedan also and u replaced your d with a f series. Is there allot of difference way faster? Are you cherping in third gear? I might do the same so i can tell people u still got smoked by my single cam 2.2 lol.

Ok you said DX so I assumed it was the B7. But for future readers the D15B7 and D16Z6 both use 240cc and can be reused for this or any d/b-series swap.

Jdmpeteek9: single cam all day lol yeah much faster and completely stock right now, does a little more than cherp third too well worth it!

Jonina: can't post pics yet, lost my old account had to register a new

Sleepyaccord96: yeah man and your definitely right about the mount kit but on a budget and me just being an innovator I wasn't interested in buying theirs, wanted to figure it out the hard way..but only needing the accord mount braket(spot welded to trans side) and a prelude rear mount turned out much cheaper

teg axles do not fit all the way in future readers but if you dont make sharp turns creeping slow they shouldn't pop out

New here, with a join date of 2009? Pretty shitty excuse. First off, don't bump year old dead threads. Second off, sending a private message takes literally two clicks - click their name, click "Send private message". The fact that you didn't find that tells me you aren't putting any effort into what you want. No effort = no results.

An F swap is the same as an H swap. Start searching and reading. You're welcome, and good luck.
