x2...?

The last two I received from them were pretty clean (one had definitely been steam cleaned well). Rusty header, cut harnesses & hoses and sometimes broken accessories are usually par for the course unless its advertised otherwise.

You should always read the fine print.

i agree looks to be in pretty good shape. The last one i got had a new timing belt so i thought that was kinda weird considering it was supposed to have 30,000 miles. It was also oil stained pretty bad and were the front bracket mounted to the block one hole was cracked. I was a little scared to install it just didnt seem to be a good motor by looking at it. I dont use the front mount in a civic so that wasnt a problem and after changing the oil a couple times you could eat out of the inside now never seen oil stain go away but in this case it did. Also it ran 13.5 all day with a h tranny in a heavy si hatch so motor was and still is in great shape dont judge a book by its cover man im sure you will be happy with it and there great guys to work with .

Did you get a five speed or auto motor ? Big difference between the two about 20 hp. Five speed comes with type s cams and a 65mm throttle body auto dont . Odds are if you paid 800 its a auto . i had to pay 1,300 to get a five speed just some info to use .

I pulled the head off and got a great deal on some crower springs and retainers as well as skunk 2 intake manifold and arp head studs a friend was going to use to build his h22 head (the clean head is the h22 one)

Put my arps in with the moly lube. Torqued the head down and started on my cam caps also started to test fit the rest of my parts as well to see how it will hopefully look. Still waiting on my valve cover to be finished powder coated the color i selected is top secret.

Hey nice build coming along. If the F20 crower retainers are anything like the H22 ones with the bigger/ wider retainer you'll have to grind the rockers down to have clearance between the bottom side of the rocker and retainer. If you don't then you most likely will run into the same Problems I had running a bigger cam. My cams locked up because I had the clearance issues, until I grinded the rockers down. If you want to know more just google it or pm me.

I think the blox stage 1 camshafts have the same profile as a type s cam. But now i know why there are small scratches and wear marks on side of retainers from previous use.

I reveed my f20b to over 9,000 grand for years . Next to the k series i can honestly say this is one of the best motors built by honda. It was desighned for a road race engine so it was desighned to hold high rpms for a long length of time .

Motor looks good man and ive got a couple motor that im sure had over 100,000 miles on them . Besides being carboned up they were still in great shape i wouldnt sweat it .

Also the stock f20b injectors are realy nice . I didnt max mine out till i hit 248hp so if you wanted to use the stock injectors and get some money back for your other ones they will be fine .

If that's the case you still have to grind them cause I'm running type s cams too. Just trying to let you know before you do something stupid like I did (sold my skunk2 cams, because I thought the crowers n skunk2 cams were incompatible). You can grind the bottom side of the rocker yourself if your comfortable with doing it.

I really don trust crower products anymore my buddy had to grind the bottom of his rockers completely for his stage 3 crower camshafts in his 420a eclipse. Its just a poor design or inadequate testing on parts. Im looking at post of some crower valve trains dropping valves and now this wear deal, talk about not getting your moneys worth. Its only a month and a half till IA. Is there any way to pull out the retainers with out pulling the head off the block? If i do Its another 400 or 500$ that i could be spending on paint supplies for my cd5 plus ill miss IA.
