Default ex slave cylinder on gsr tranny?

99 gsr tranny..on 99 si swap...we didn't have the gsr slave cylinder so we used EX slave cylinder...and the car won't shift in all the gears...just 1st and 5th...if you down shift...it sometimes goes in the rest...but is the ex slave cylinder the problem? i bled the clutch 3 times...

also...whats the absolute correct way to bleed clutch?

ITS NOT THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE I JUST DID A AUTO TO MANUAL CONVERSION IN MY 97 HATCH WITH A LSVTEC AND USED A 94 EX SLAVE CYLINDER. THE ARE ALL THE SAME

you sure the trans did not have that problem before you owned it? Also check to see if the shift linkage is not bent.

bought the tranny from Newman at JDMshit.com...said it was a 99 with 9k miles.

shift linkage was from -b18c_powered_si--Brian Wong and seems to be straight.

The slave cylinders are a little different, but replacements for both share the same part #. It should be working.

Did you make sure the pushrod was seated in the release fork pocket before you tightened the slave up on the tranny?

yup...it was in there...slave cylinder is workin perfect when pushing the clutch...what i don't get is that the car downshifts fine..and when your sitting still its perfect also.

could be the pressure plate giving you are hard time...a friend of mine has the gsr tranny on a si and he got the wrong pressure plate and he could go into gears sometimes and only in some gears not all...sometimes it would engage fine or he would have to force it...we checked the pressure plate...replaced it and all was ok...

The B/D series slave cylinders are interchangeable so that's not your problem. If the clutch is completely bled and the pedal has a good feel, then I would say that the problem is probably in the throw-out bearing or the pressure plate.
