EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THIS ABOUT EK BSERIES SWAPS
Hey all... was in the middle of my swap today 2000 civic cx converted to obd1 already with a d15b motor in it to a jdm b18c ITR swap.
My stock EWH obd2b had this really weird 3 wire alternator connector connected to the d15b alternator... not 4 wire like on the ITR...... so I took apart both the d15b alternator and the itr alternator and swapped just the outter housing so it would bolt up to the ITR block and plug in to the 3 wire connector on my obd2b harness. very sweeeeeet.
secondly
The dizzy fix..... I made a jumper harness so I didn't hack the obd2b EWH up just plugged it in at both ends... also sweeeetttt....
My injector harness on my obd2b harness just plugged right in to the ITR motor and the iacv mod was already done so it just plugged in as well.......
hopefully tomorrow when I get the last mount I need I can put the motor in and see if she will run haha
one question though ....
running p28 .. no knock sensor required or secondary o2 sensor right?
thanks
-Lee

Re: EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THIS ABOUT EK BSERIES SWAPS
well I guess I answered all my own questions...........this is not to brag... everyone has done the type r swap.............. These are very simple tricks I didn't commonly hear of that worked really well....
The alternator works..... no weird noises....... with the housing swap no wiring at all.......
the dizzy jumper harness works....... (car runs and revs no codes)
I have no engine light (no knock sensor, or second o2 sensor wired in...)
and the car ****ING HAULS ASSSSSSSSSSSS
all thanks to the info I received from searching Honda tech. thanks all... maybe boost next >>???

This weird 3 wire connector you had on the alternator is what is known as an OBD1 alternator. It was round, right? OBD2 is kind of a rounded off square and smaller. You can also simply use the correct distributor when you perform a swap (and the correct alternator) and the stuff is plug and play; no extra connections that are prone to fail.
If you have a P28, there is no knock sensor support so no need for a knock sensor. Also, OBD1 does not use a rear O2 so you don't need that either...

The 4th wire is unnecessary. no codes if you don't run it, guaranteed!
usually obd0 DA's have only 3 wires but there are a random few Honda's here and there that don't have the 4th wire as well. Regardless, the car WILL run fine without the 4th wire.

It will get a cleaning when I bring it to work, so yes simple green is on the agenda,
It was a 3 wire green oval connector.
The mugen valve cover is UGGGGLLLYYY but thats what the motor came with ...... I want a gsr one.........(black and looks more like it's supposed to be there.)
The clutch fluid doesn't look like that anymore ... I bled it out til it was clear.
I made the jumper harness out of the old engine harness and the old distributor...... just cut and spliced them together...... quick and easy.............took maybe 10 minutes using the diagrams I found on this site.
so once again thanks everyone for all the info .......
