Erratic ignition/firing against starter
Okay, so I have a EG Civic. It previously had a F23A swap in it that was in the car when I bought it. I recently started having some weird issues with it, and after running out of things to try and it failing a leakdown test, I decided to get a new motor put in.
Got me a super awesome H22A from an accord euro R, had it put in.
When you try to crank it, it cranks really slow, like the battery is dead, but if you disconnect the distributor, it cranks normally.
If you advance the distributor all the way, it sort of runs, but backfires and sputters and shakes. The tach is going crazy during this, spiking between like 1-6k.
No codes
Cam timing checked. Different ECU tried. Different distributor tried. No dice.
One of the shops it's been to told me when a noid light is put on the injectors, they're firing super erratically. This and the tach suggests maybe wonky readings from the crank position sensor, but then why no codes?
Could faulty wiring on the CYP be the issue here?
