Engines, somone help me out!
I recently bought a project hatch, 93 dx and i am about to buy a 1st gen b16a, i know that i need a hydro tranny so if i ditched it and put on a 2nd gen SI tranny or LS tranny would it work? I am either going for that combo or i am going to get a ls but i can't seem to find any. anyway whatever i get is going to be boosted. somone please help me out.

the transmission would work but you still need injectors and distributor from second gen.
its cheaper to buy the second gen swap and not even bother with the first gen ****.

how do you figure that i could get a 1st gen longblock for 550, with ecu and everything and then pick up a ls tranny for around 400, a 2nd gen b16 sells for like 2400

Yep your gonna need axles too. and that 2400$ price tag for the second gen b16a will be the full swap. a second gen longblock will be about 1000~ depending on where you go.
trust us on this man. ive seen A LOT of people go through the "first gen is only 1000$!" thing then wind up spending almost 3000$ because they didnt know what they were getting into. its better to pay now and do it right. Also gonna need a new ECU because obd0 wont work.
