Engine Swap Pouring Smoke

So I put a B16a into my CRX and I'm getting TONS of smoke from the exhaust. When I first started it there was no coolant and it was smoking so I'm assuming it's not coolant. I pulled the spark plugs and noticed there was oil sitting on top of the pistons. Engine was supposed to be a fresh rebuild but I got it on a FB group so who knows. I took the oil pan off and it did have SRP pistons and Eagle rods like he told me it did. The compression test was good (around 220psi per cyl). I ran it for 5 or 10 minutes and the smoke never cleared up. Could it be a PCV issue? Or something somehow routed wrong? What would be my best course of action? Thanks all!

What color of smoke?

White = coolant
Black = unburnt fuel
Bluish/black = oil

Also the smell should tell you whether it’s fuel or oil.

What color were the spark plugs? Post pics.

I don't think it was coolant, I would say either black or blue but I can't say for sure. No check engine light so I don't think it was misfiring. I'm running the stock injectors from my CRX HF so I didn't have to bypass the resistor box but they're 240cc so I don't think they should be a problem. Running a custom tune on a chipped ECU but I swapped out the ECU for a B18a ECU just to see if it was an overfueling issue and it didn't change anything.

Fresh rebuild and chromoly rings will smoke for quite some time before the rings seat.

I wouldn't think like no rings at all though.

The block might need a tear down to verify proper ring install and hone job etc.

The other question would be does the head have valve seals in place?
