EK/SI...B18C5? Where do I start?
Hows it going everyone. I am looking for a new toy to play with. I browsed the forum and there is a lot of great info here and I am wondering where I should start. I used to have a 98 ex back in 98. Since then, I have gone through a bunch of cars. I am now wanting to get another civic to have fun with and not use as a DD. I want to look for either a 99-00 EX/SI to start and eventually drop in a B18C5 motor. I want everything to be legit and clean. I want to be able to get it "bar'd" and pass smog and everything. I was wondering where I should go after I find my car. I am in Orange County, but have been out of the scene for about 10+ years so I don't know what is what anymore. What options should I go with. I don't have the tools or mechanics knowledge to be doing the swap or any heavy motor work. I garage experience is only limited to probably installing an intake, exhaust, and all the audio/video electronics. What are the costs I should be budgeting for the motor too after I find a decent shell. I also want to keep my a/c and power steering. I just want something fun to drive. Clean, simple, and reliable.
Also - as to building the motor, what extent would I be able to add to still keep it smog/street legal. I know I am in CA and anything to do with upgrading is a pain.
Thanks for your help everyone.

well u have a long ways ahead of you. there are a ton of threads on here reguarding to your question.
check hmotorsonline.com for the price of your engine. I would hold off on building the engine just because you are rusty. one project at a time, doing a swap and build sounds like a ****en headache.
I don't know anything about California emissions so can't help you there.
