No doubt. Yes, you can stop fine with stock brakes. But why not stop better? Trust me, drive a car with good brakes, and you'll hate your stock ones.</TD></TR></TABLE>
haha... It's funny because Bee's H22 hatch doesn't really see very much street action. It's basically a drag car. So the handling abilities aren't that important. He's a friend of mine, its all jokes.
I have upgraded brakes on mine and I love it. I want to upgrade them agian.

If everything past stock brakes is unnecessary, then why swap motors? The stock one is fine, right? Maybe do some upgrades to improve it? If you're coming from a money standpoint, then yes, upgrade the pads. If you're coming from a performance standpoint, why not? You wanted the car to go faster, why not make it stop better? Stock brakes will get the car stopped, but if I can reduce my stopping distance with a brake swap, then I'm doing it. Regardless of if you're driving on the street or not, stopping better is a plus for me.
My set-up:
'93 Hatchcrap
'95 JDM H22
Tein Type Flex Damper Suspension
(9k springs front/10k springs rear)
Spoon Front Strut Tower Brace
GSR Brake Swap
(Booster, front and rear discs)
Earl's Braided lines
EBC pads(street)
Panther 10's(Track)
Weld in roll cage
Modified by Specail Ed at 3:21 PM 8/19/2005</TD></TR></TABLE>
Hijack question... Do you run that in the HC? I'm thinking about running mine when it finally gets down to Florida in 2006 and just wanted to see how you were doing with it.

Not at this time. I haven't heard of too many people running swapped H cars in HC. I'd eventually like to get into HC, but that's my only car. HC is a great series, I fully support it, but don't know when I'll get a chance to be a part of it.

Re: EG H22 suspension and brake setup (Specail Ed)
Yea, unfortunately costs are crazy for upkeep and even more ridiculous if god forbid you are ever in an accident. Hopefully my career takes a turn for the better and the house I'm moving into doesn't suck the life out of my bank account. I've dreamed of putting this best on the track for as long as I can remember.
Anyways, back on topic, for standard daily driving there isn't a need for upgrading your brakes, I personally think it's money best spent somewhere else.

Maybe on a stock car...
But I race my car and I like having better brakes.
GSR brakes are way better than stock Civic disk/drum setup

Shut up you doobie smokin' hippie. More to my point, just b/c you have an h22 doesn't require a better brake system.

I suppose if you run under 100mph in the 1/4mile you don't
jj
You don't require better brake pads than the el-cheapo brand but it really couldn't hurt to upgrade right? IMO overkill is better than inadequete when you really need them.

Brake and suspension set up to ripping on each other about HP. You gotta love how far HT members can stray from the topic.

hmm... well if you think about it HP goals has a lot to do with brake setup.
Too much GO and no SLOW =
Back on topic..
I noticed the ride height with stock springs was pretty low compared to when the D was in there. Maybe my springs were shot? What springrates are you guys using if not stock?
