Please forgive me in i do not post this in the right forum this is my first post. Be gentle:

I have been wanting a project car for a while (i missed my old crx) and i found a 1989 crx std setting in a field while i was out of town. i talked to the owner of the shop beside it and he said he just got it and he is working out the title right now and after some haggling he said that he would sell it to me for $400... the engine is blown from what he says and the tranny is pretty much shot...

here's my question: how tough is it going to be to switch it from automatic to manual when i swap the motor? what all do you think i'll need??? is it worth it?

the body is pretty OK, the glass is perfect and the only rust is a small amount of course above each rear wheel. it does have a set of lowering springs on it but from it's stance i would say they are generic.

i talked to him today and he's still working on the title. i haven't bought it yet, i just thought i should ask someone that has experience with such a project first.

if it helps to know what i'm planning for the car. i'm planning a pretty much track only car, with only seats and a dash as far as interior, i want it to be as light as possible and i'm probably gonna do sohc motor (i like them, they are the underdogs). i'm not looking for pretty, i'm looking for cheap thrills with this car.
