ECU for H22 00' Si
A couple of months ago I dropped a 99' H22 motor in my 00' Civic Si. I had Hasport do my wiring so everything is compatible. I've had a couple of different ECU's in the car but haven't had any luck finding the right one. I know I need a 96' P13 because it's the only OBD2 for the H22 w/o an immoblizer(no luck finding one). I think I can run an OBD1 P13 but then my serial port won't work anymore. I'm not completely knowleable on this kind of stuff but I know I can run a P72 for a GSR too but I think it has to be a 96' also because of the immobilizer. I don't have the money to buy a programable fuel man. yet but I'm trying to find something that will work. Right now I'm running an ECU for a 97' Accord EX and it's giving me all sorts of problems. Any suggestions you guys can offer would help. Thanks

Re: ECU for H22 00' Si (Kamin)
I didn't know you could get the immobilizer removed from the ECU. Who provides this service? I've been in close contact w/ the guys here at Hasport in Phoenix and they never suggested that as an option.

Since your car is a 00, it's actually OBD2B. The only ECU's that would be plug and play with your ECU plugs are 00-01 GSR P72 or 00-01 Prelude. Both of these ECU's have an immobilizer. The easiest thing to do would be to purchase an OBD2B to OBD1 ECU adapter harness and use an OBD1 P13 or chipped P28 for H22 applications.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=454145 Here you go. hope this helps somewhat.. Also if you ever do decide to get it removed. you'll have to do a little trick to get your car started. . It's something about turning your ignition one click, listen to the fuel pump (let it finish priming itself, turn another click, abd then start car. Might wanna make sure no this though.

Re: (duofilm)
forgot to mention i already have the OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness. I was told that by switching the OBD1 P13 I wouldn't be able to scan codes anymore. I've been trying too long to get the right ECU and I just want the car to run right. I guess the best answer would be to switch to the OBD1 P13.

That is correct. You can jump the service connector and get codes, but if your DMV checks for a working scan port for emissions, you will have a problem.

Re: (turbogixxer)
Alright well the car is registered out of state anyways so that shouldn't be a problem. With the OBD2 to OBD1 wiring conversion a OBD1 P13 should plug right in?

Re: (tkimports)
Actually, if I remember correctly, you have an obd2b to obd2a conversion harness.. I know all about the immobilizer removal on the OBD2 Prelude ecu's, and it does not work very well, and you would fail Arizona emissions with it. I'm still sticking to my suggestion of the 96 Prelude VTEC ecu, or even a 96-99 Integra GSR ecu for a temporary solution to your problems..

Any obd1 vtec ecu will run the car w/ the obd2b-> obd1 conversion harness. You can get them from 100 different places. I got mine from jdmshit.com.
I run a socketed obd1 p28 tuned via Uberdata with the obd2b-> obd1 conversion harness. It's not huge deal, all it does it change your three row connections into two row connections and put them in the appropriate slots for an obd1 ecu.

yall have made way to big of a deal out of this... ah hahahahah
1. convert to obd1.
2. plug in obd1 ecu.
3. do whatever else u gotta do.

Just curious, what kind of problems did you have with the 97 accord ecu. I thought that woulbd be more sufficient then running a obd2 p72?? Anyone ever had the obd2 accord ecu with h22a setup and had any success with it?

Re: ECU for H22 00' Si (duofilm)
Running this ECU gave me some major issues. There was spittering and sputtering around 4500 rpms. Vtec didn't work right I think because there's more Vtec solenoids on an H22?? Not sure but Vtec didn't kick in. I started getting really bad gas mileage (8-10 mpg). My car was shooting two foot flames out of the exhaust on the highway it was crazy. After running this ECU i started getting cylinder wash because it was running so rich. Now I'm getting some really bad blow by.
