Default Dynoed my LSVtec today

I got 3 runs in on the Dyno today.

My best run was:
155hp @ 7436 rpm
120 lbs torque @ 5090 rpm

I am running a completely stock LSVtec. I have a B17A1 head on a B18A1 block. I'm planning on upgrading the internals over the winter. What can I do to get some decent numbers out of this using an all motor setup?

holy **** that sucks.

new pistons for sure, CTR intake cam, and a type R IM and you should be making some serious power...

I was just informed by a few people that this Dyno sucks. It's a mobile dyno that travels to different car shows. He dynoed 2 different 99-00 Civic Si's both put about 134 or so to the wheels on this dyno.

Also, transmission makes a huge difference. I put down 165 whp at 7500 rpms with a "bone stock" LS/VTEC motor in my old CRX (stock LS block, stock B16 head, stock PR3 ECU) but I had a YS1 GSR tranny and that helped out quite a bit. The same day, there was a LS/VTEC EF hatchback with CTR pistons, CTR cams, S1 JDM tranny, and he was putting down 189 whp.... dunno at what RPMs.... this was back in 1998.

Putting some higher compression pistons into the LS block will make a huge difference. We have a CRX at our shop with PR3 pistons in the LS block, stock B16 head, LS tranny but the car hauls *** because of the high compression (and gets good gas milage)..... it was converted to OBD-1 and is run with a chipped P28 but still drives and pulls very good.

My LSVtec is "bone stock" converted to OBD1. I am using a B17A1 head, water pump and oil pump, stock LS block, Dinian Chipped P28, B16A exhaust manifold, test pipe, and I'm also using the YS1 tranny form an 92 GSR.

I was disapointed with the numbers on this dyno. It felt like my car was skiing the whole time (sliding side to side). Over the witner I will make the necessary cahnges to put out some better numbers. Thanks for the advice.

that is around what a stock Si dyno's, you have not heard any information oh what those Si's had or how well they were maintained, 135-140 is around where stock Si's will dyno at , and since he takes this mobile dyno different places lets again not forget about elevation and temperature affects things, so do not start under-rating your numbers just yet

I just said that because I've never seen a B16 put down less than 140. I saw two of them put down less on Saturday. It just seemed kinda strange to me. Thats all.

not bad but heres what u need to do to get a big on your face, first you get a new IM along witha hondata IM gasket, then get some good headers ; budget then get a jdm 4-1 or if you got cash them get a DTR header (Danny Tran Racing ) huge gains from that alone, then get hondata s200 and then the best of all : ctr pistons and some nice cams. Now, if that doesnt put down some sick # then i dont know what to tell ye ( it will 4 sure )
good luck man !!!

That seems about fair for a stock LsVtec. What have you guys been seeing? Low compression like that and crappy cams, I'd be suprised if it was making 170 horsepower, so consider 155 decent....
change the intake manifold, cams, pistons and header (all of them ITR/CTR parts, it total it'll come out around $1000), then you'll probably be putting down around 185 horsepower, which will make a world of difference.
You also might want to think about changing to ARP rod bolts while you have them out!
