Driveshaft for H22A EK Civic!
Hello all,
I have the JDM H22A1 in my 1996 EK civic...
In the weekend, I snapped my driveshaft drag racing the civic at the local dragstrip. Spooky thing is that this was the billet driveshaft provided by Place Racing, where I was assured that it was rated up to about 400hp applications... it snapped CLEAN right after the inner CV joint... Since the conversion was performed over a year ago, the warranty is void
So, I have to fabricate one locally, as I live overseas, and shipping a hunk of metal across the pacific isn't a very cost effective idea. Don't worry, no cut/weld involved, I'm going to have a new one machined up, and probably heat treated to strengthen it! What I'm asking is if the axle/driveshaft is just the machined down version of the prelude axles/driveshaft, or is it a hybrid of prelude/civic??
Thanks!!

Hey hybr1do,
Have you tried contacting Place Racing and explaining your mishap? If they're customer service is up to scratch, they should be able to help you out or provide you with a revised driveshaft at a lower price... maybe
Worth a try anyway.

yep, called Place Racing yesterday, they can't even find the record of my purchse...
Besides, they did tell me that the one year warranty is final.

Hrm... sounds like a bunch of a-holes. I have an archived article at home about aftermarket driveshafts. I'll dig it up tonight and see if there's any useful info. Got any pics of the broken driveshaft?
btw - what happened to the AM board?

yah, I've been looking at driveshaftshop.com, but I'll see what Whibus and other local driveshaft stores can whip up. It shouldn't be too hard...
It's down for "maintenance". I'll leave it up to you to read between the lines. hehe! I believe we're recreating the cgi-bin as we speak. hrm.
