doing a b18b in a auto civic (99 dx)
anyone know a good shop they can hook me up with in the boston area. i'm keeping the auto, but want more power, was gonna do a built ls. Just gonna start with the engine from passwordjdm.

maybe go ls/vtec later on. Only thing im worried about is that it's an auto, all swaps are with 5spds, so i hope i just need to do an auto ecu from an ls and i'm all set. Should 1500 cover my swap ?

I would check to see if the importer you buy the motor from can get you one of the DOHC VTEC auto trannys to mate to the B18B motor. I don't have experience with auto tranny's but it's seems like it would be a better choice for gearing. The JDM B18C GSR and B16A's had auto versions and I'm sure importers have a lot of these tranny's laying around. They usually separate them and sell the auto setups just as longblocks.
